Heh, first thing that jumped out at me was that Tory James is rated pretty highly. Is this year's free agent crop just weak at CB or what? My personal inclination is that I'd take Nick Harper or Rod Hood over him in a heartbeat, is that just exaggerated from me seeing him get burned and miss tackles so often while not watching the other guys?

Also-- no Kaesviharn anywhere? He's a free agent, and he did have 6 INTs this year. Hell, I even saw one article mention him as a Pro Bowl snub.

Where'd this list come from, by the way?

wtf is going on with this fucking list?

anyone underlined should be ahead of tory james without a doubt. Buchanon isnt good or anything, but wow he is better than tory at this point in his career. Randall Gay is a solid CB, Lenny Walls is decent. Harper, David, Hood are all quality CBs. James is shit.

Anyone who signs Garcia as their starting QB next year might as well plan to be drafting int he top 10 next year. The guy was on a good team. I wonder if he'll stay on the Eagles or opt for a starting job on a really shitty team and have a season like he did for the Browns a couple years ago.

All I have to say is, I hope some team has Tory James ranked as the #3 free agent CB.

If Garcia is smart he'll stay with the Eagles. McNabb might not be able to start the season (not every player can rehab a serious knee injury as fast as Carson did) and even if he does, he's been injured in each of the past two years, so Garcia could get some time. He's in a great situation there, a perfect fit with the team, and if he goes somewhere else he more than likely loses his job to some rookie or young developmental-type QB once the shitty team he's with mails it in for the season in around week 7 or so.

Now I'm picturing the new Stealers coach being a moron and signing him, and one of our wideouts burning him for a TD in overtime.

I think I would explode in my pants if the Stealers or Ravens signed him (not the Browns because that would just be sad). They both need CB depth right? :D

can you imagine chad before that game? getting ready to face off against 3rd and Tory? or TJ just plain knocking his ass out and then taking it to the house?

I wonder how hard it would be for them to talk to the media before the game.

"You used to face Tory James in practice every day. Are you looking forward to this matchup?"

How do you answer that question without busting out laughing? I guess if anyone could do it it would be Chad, because he's so deadpan in interviews.

Whether or not Chad would own James depends on if it happens to be one of the 4 games CJ shows up for that year.

Things I noticed:

1. Even as a Buckeye fan, I think Ginn would be a mistake for this coaching staff...4 seasons now, it's time to have a defense

2. The second number (overall rank) lists Justin Smith as #3, which considering the listed #2 is Tony Gonzalez and has already resigned with KC, makes Smith the new #2

3. I would be shocked if NFL personnel people have Tory ranked that high...that would be very sad

4. There are several linebackers that would be worth looking at that would be cheaper than Adalius Thomas

5. A couple running backs jump out to me for a Chris Perry replacement (IF the team were to go that route this year). Michael Turner is one but he is a RFA according to this list. RFA's rarely change teams, but not impossible. The other is Dominic Rhodes, which got me to thinking if the Colts would be able to resign him given the contracts of Peyton and the receiving trio. Plus, do they want to hand the reigns completely over to Addai? Another interesting one is Buckhalter.

6. Anyone know anything about Cory Redding? He apparently had 8 sacks from the DT position, 48 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 1 recovery. He's only 26 years old, but is listed at only 290 pounds.
how much money do you think Kelsay from Buffalo would want? He's a lot like Justin Smith but probably for a little bit cheaper.

If we could get him and Briggs, I'd be pretty darn happy, but thats only a pipe dream.
I had that thought today as well...Kelsay took a bit of time to develop with Buffalo, but I think that cap-wise he is one of the very few that are underrated.

i highly doubt anyone on the cards oline worth a shit is gonna get on the FA market. I bet they'd be willing to overpay to keep their quality olineman around.

Good list. Funny all you Justin haters, and he's the 3rd-ranked FA on this entire list. Granted, it's one person's opinion, but he's rated ahead of Jared Allen (DUI's aside, I think he's a better player), Patrick Kerney, Charles Grant, and some other solid ends.

Some guys from the list that piqued my interest...

C - Shaun O'Hara, Giants - only 30, has some starting experience. Pretty good player who would provide some depth, as I'm not sold on Wilkerson (hope I'm wrong).

DE - Dewayne White, Bucs - for a guy without a lot of size, he can get after the passer. He's a good player that I liked when he was at Louisville. Chris Kelsay (Bills) can't hold Justin's jock as a run defender, but he's a player with some upside, especially as a pass rusher, who has stepped up recently.

DT - Ian Scott, Bears - not real big (just over 300 #), but a solid run defender who's young. When Tommie Harris comes back, he and Tank Johnson will be the starters, so Scott will be part of their rotation, unless he goes elsewhere.

LB - Love Briggs and Thomas, but they'll cost big $. At a lower price range, Scott Shanle (NO) was with the Cowboys, before he went on to the Saints with DC Gary Gibbs, who had coached him in Dallas. He's a good football player... physical, tackles well, and makes plays. Good ST player, too.

CB - A pretty poor crop overall. From this list, I like Nick Harper and Rod Hood - Hood, especially. Samuel and Clements are likely too pricey. Jordan Babineaux can play either safety or CB - he's restricted. Solid player.

S - I'd re-sign KK, who I can't believe isn't on the list. Michael Lewis of the Eagles is a physical safety - very good tackler, just OK in coverage.

Here's my 2 cents,

First off BAB and A-Men need to get a room and copy of BrokeBack Mountian cause they ain't getting Briggs, dude turned down a 6 year 30 million dollar deal from the Browns last year, imagine what he's looking for this year after getting close to 180 tackles this season, not including the big plays he has made during the playoffs. Simply put, Briggs is looking to go Washington were Synder can give him 100 quadbillion dollars to be another FA bust.

Also here my FA's I would like us to take a look see at:QB Quinn Gray(If we don't re-sign Wright or Johnson), RB Kenny Watson (if not draft Dwayne Wright from Fresno State), TE Daniel Graham, DE Charles Grant and Atwan Peek, CB Will James and Phil Buchanon, S Michael Lewis, and either one of the Seahawks Long Snappers(St.Louis needs some competition).

If we get one or two of those guys I think it would allow us to really be able to take the BPA in the draft in every round.

Redding came into the league as a DE from Texas. He had a breakout season in '06 playing the under tackle position for the Lions. He would be the perfect replacement for Robinson who plays end on first down but moves down to tackle on passing downs, or he could just replace J.T.. I have had my eye on him for a while because I thought that he would come at a reasonable price. However I recently read that the Lions may tag him.

There are a few players on this list that have already re-signed. For example E.J. Henderson would have been a great bargain on the FA market (he is rated FAR too low on this list), but he has already re-signed. In my opinion he is one of the best young LBs in the league.

Anyone who thinks we need a safety needs to check out Gibril Wilson. He is a tackling machine.
