'I Decapitated' Daniel Pearl, Mohammed Says

Military Releases Transcripts From Guantanamo Bay Hearing

POSTED: 8:03 pm EDT March 14, 2007
UPDATED: 12:03 pm EDT March 15, 2007

WASHINGTON -- Khalid Sheikh Mohammed confessed to cutting off the head of American journalist Daniel Pearl, as well as plotting the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, according to a revised transcript of a statement released by the U.S. military.

"I decapitated with my blessed right hand the head of the American Jew, Daniel Pearl, in the city of Karachi, Pakistan," Mohammed is quoted as saying in a transcript of a military hearing at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, that was released Thursday by the Pentagon.

In addition to the terrorist attacks and Pearl's death, Muhammed claimed responsibility for at least 30 other al-Qaida attacks or plots. They ranged from the 1993 attack at the World Trade Center to the attempt by would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid to blow up a trans-Atlantic flight with explosives hidden in his shoes.

"I was responsible for the 9/11 operation, from A to Z," an interpreter read from Muhammad's statement to the Combatant Status Review Tribunal on March 10 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

In the statement he pledged his allegiance to Osama bin Laden and finished with an admission to trying to destroy an American oil company in Indonesia owned by former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

He offered a confession to "managing and following up on the Cell for the Production of Biological Weapons, such as anthrax and others, and following up on Dirty Bomb Operations on American soil."

He also named four other skyscrapers that were supposed to be destroyed in a "second wave" of attacks after Sept. 11. They were the Library Tower in Los Angeles, the Sears Tower in Chicago, the Plaza Bank in Seattle and the Empire State Building in New York City.

Mohammed also said he plotted attacks that were never carried out against then-President Bill Clinton, former President Jimmy Carter and the late Pope John Paul II.

"I shared responsibility for the assassination attempt against Pope John Paul II while he was visiting the Philippines," Muhammad also said in the transcript.

Muhammad's lengthy closing oral statement began with a pledge to Allah in Arabic followed by a refusal to take an oath as part of the tribunal. He explained that he was not lying, but that his religious beliefs prevented him taking the oath and thereby accepting, at least in part, American law and its constitution.

Muhammad went on to say that he was not trying to make himself out to be a hero, but an enemy of America.

He drew a comparison between al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and George Washington, both fighting for independence, and said that the term terrorist is "deceiving." He said that during the Revolutionary War, Washington would have been considered a terrorist by the British.

Muhammad said he did not like to kill people, especially children.

"I don't like to kill people. I feel very sorry they been killed kids in 9/11," Muhammad said in broken English. But, he said, their deaths are part of the "language" of war.

He closed by stating that war is part of life and that it will never stop.

Some information on the transcripts was blacked out.

May he get what his God would do to him.

However dont for one minute think there arent those in this country that think exactly the same as this statement.
"I don't like to kill people. I feel very sorry they been killed kids in 9/11," Muhammad said in broken English. But, he said, their deaths are part of the "language" of war.
I read "Inside The Jihad" by Omar Nasiri a while back. Mostly because he was (purportedly) so close to the Khadr family in Afghanistan (who are big news in Canada, being citizens). But anyway, not sure how much of his story is spot on, but one point he did note was that in the Afghanistan training camps they were taught to pretend to crack under interrogation and admit to grand crimes as a way to throw intelligence authorities off their tracks, or at least give them a fair bit of disinformation to have to go through.

So that factor might be at play here. However at the same time, I'm sure Khalid Sheikh Mohammed got worked damn good in detention, so maybe it is the truth. The Pakistani authorities accuse (and still have in custody) Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh of being behind the Pearl kidnapping and execution. (But this might again be due to the fact that Saeed Sheikh has connections to the ISI and possibly some serious dirt on his captors)

Man Bush and company do get lucky.

Whenever

~ His poll numbers start to really sink

~ a Whitehouse scandal breaks

..... you can always count on a mystery Bin Laden tape to pop up ... or some arrest of the # 2 guy we have been looking for .... or now a confession in a military kangaroo court from the supposed mastermind  on 9/11 .... who also conveniently implicates all of these other people to make it seem like Fuhrer Bush is keeping us safe by employing Halliburton to shuffle around the rubble that we leave scattered throughout the Middle East along with corpses.

Trials that the public can not witness ... and which are not held in civilian court are worthless. Especially when they are held in illegal gulags like gitmo without due process.

Hell Stalin had show military trials with confessions all the time .... = they mean nothing.

Why don't they let independent investigators have access to the suspect to interview him now that he has come clean ? Why can't we see him making these confessions ? How do we know he was not coerced into these or that he wasn't on the payroll from the start to begin with ?

These kind of issues could be looked into in a civilian trial .... but not some bullshit gulag court in a secret prison on the island of Cuba.

2 Questions

1. Where is the "wag the dog" stuff that were supposed to be paying attention to in this case? Meaning what are they trying to bait and switch us on?

2. How would you have trials like this and still protect sensitive information?

I think we should try and get more bang for our buck with this fake confession ....

I mean hell --- either we have waterboarded his ass for 3 years and Ron Jeremy finally wants the dildo removed from his rectum ---- or he is just another of the CIA funded Mujahadeen who is now making good on his end of the deal for which he has been paid and for which his family will now be rewarded.

So let's have him admit to

- Shooting JFK
- Kidnapping the Lindbergh baby
- Dumping Jimmy Hoffa in Lake Erie
- & Planting that little kids mouth on Michael Jacksons cock

Also you have to hand it to this guy he is good ....

I mean the fact that he was able to

- Schedule 4 Military "Excersizes" that pulled most of Norad's fighters out of US air space and up to canada on September 11

- Pick a morning where Bush I would be at a meeting with Bin Ladens brother Shafig bin Laden

- Make sure that George W. Bush's brother was on the board of directors for the company providing electronic security for the World Trade Center, Dulles International Airport and United Airlines

- Implode Building 7 at the WTC = 8 hours later within 1 second of the owner Larry Silverstein saying "pull it"

= really speaks to this guys pre-planning.

etc etc etc etc

In other news ....

Right before he confessed Sheikh-Mohammed converted to Scientology and stopped taking his Pentagon orderd Prozac.

Thus everything he said was in a pure conscientious state.

Moreover, Sheikh-Mohammed also admitted to the hanging chad manipulation in Florida in 2000 and the overthrow of Jean-Bertrand Aristide in Haiti.

He also said he makes a "mean lamb kebob" with (blacked out by Pentagon), but that seems like it was said under duress as it cannot be verified.

~ Was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed responsible for warning, according to Newsweek, a group of top Pentagon officials to cancel their flights on the evening of September 10th due to security concerns?

~ - Was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed responsible for the record number of 'put' options, speculation that the stock of a company will fall, that were placed on American and United Airlines in the days preceding September 11th? This despite a September 10th Reuters report stating 'airline stocks set to fly.'

~ - Was Khalid Shaikh Mohammed responsible for advising the Secret Service not to remove President Bush from a completely unsecured Florida elementary school by letting them know he wasn't a target on 9/11?

OF COURSE HE WAS .... Hell he probably shot Lincoln and caused "Friends" to go off the air

I agree with BJ on this one. This guy surely has done something, you would think, but being the 9/11 mastermind, AND the guy who decapitated Pearl?
What I don't like is that we cannot access any of this, whether it be his confession, the documents, access to the legal proceedings, etc. except through the media.
It just seems too convenient, and NOT because Bush needs something to bolster his popularity, but just because....it seems to easy and tidy for the mess that was 9/11.

I find it hilarious that he supposedly confessed to everything "From A to Z ".

Especially since the last letter of the Arabic alphabet is not Z.

A non-native English speaker would never use that expression.

Luckily for American Bushtards he used an American colloquialism they could all understand.
