Ring a bell?

You sure that's him? That guy doesn't look 300 pounds to me.

Good pickup by the sound.Sporting news had him rated as a 4th rounder.
Their take, could become a solid starter in a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme but must improve his play against the run.

If most of the downside of him is stuff you can coach, then a year behind Adams, JT and Peko will be easy to achieve, and when Fat Sam finally sinks into the earths crust and JT gets rightfully cut along with his enormous contract, we've got two Samoan Bulldozers to stuff the run.

Liking it. Certainly liking it more than a backup QB. But they're hard to like when you have God himself at QB already.
So, who goes if he makes the squad? Robinson?
Myers or Thornton.

Preferably Thornton. His cap number is killing us. Peko is ready to start next to Adams IMO. Myers and Adams will provide the same experience Thornton does, but at a cheaper price and slightly better level of play.

Starters: Adams,Peko
Backups: Myers,Toeaina

That's a pretty good rotation IMO.

how is someone who is in the top 35% of their position each year "rightfully cut" with only a fat old cripple and a barely past rookie the only other option you have?

Apparently he first went to Oregon as a FB.
He also went to school with Peko and Fanene.
And he chased Adrian Peterson down from behind.

adams cant play 3 plays in a row or stay healthy, and we are no where near any kind of cap trouble, even keeping smith at nearly 9 million.

JT is by far our best and most experienced DT we have had in a decade, its foolish to even think he is going to be cut.

adams was a huge mistake,

how is it people can completely ignore th fact that the DT nest to JT has been replaced nearly every year, but he has kept his job?

I think you are spot on here and I am guilty of undervaluing JT. The reason for this is that JT never lived up to expectations. So the obvious reaction is get rid of him. To do so is to ignore the fact that currently he may be and probably is our best DT.

i think thats where justin smith hatred comes from as well, regardless of draft position, he is a good football player, had he been a 4th round pick, people would be on his jock.
