I swear its like their programmed to say everything the bengals do sucks just because they say so.

BENGALS
i love the Leon Hall pick because i think every steeler WR can torch him. He's not a great cover guy and may wind up as a safety.

Kenny Irons in round 2? a backup QB? Makes no sense to take luxury picks when there are gaping holes on defense. If they're drafting offense then why not take a WR to replace Chris Henry who will miss half the season.

I wonder if Pacman and the new NFL anti-thug policy hurt the bengals draft prep. Thugs are probably the only guys they scouted all year and when they had to cross them off the list, they had to pick out of a hat.

The steelers draft makes me nervous because i fear the change that it suggests. The bengals draft makes me feel a whole lot better. I don't think the bengals helped their defense much in this draft. I'd rate their draft as horrible.

--- Crime Fighter
Bungles didn't impress me because Hall plays off the ball too much and I watched Jarrett torch him in Michigan's last Bowl game...He reminds me too much of Chad Scott, they did get another RB for depth and that should help their offense.

---Tres Rios
As for CB Hall from Michigan, he gets burned by speed. He's good on average to slow WRs. We have no deep threat. So I think he can cover our guys, at least well enough.
what do bengal fans think about their draft?

I think it was terrible. If i'm the bengals i want to improve the defense first, add some OL depth maybe get a future replacement for willie anderson, and add a WR. The bengals offense relies on the 3 WR set. They lost kelly washington and henry is gone for half the year. They absolutely NEED a quality #3 WR, they are nowhere near as dangerous with only 2 WRs on the field.

IMO the bengals didn't address any of these needs. They got a few defensive players but Hall looks like the only starter. They would have done better with a LB like beason in RD 1 or even one of the playmaking safeties like Reggie Nelson. Then in RD 2 they take a RB when they could have added a quality DL prospect. Hell, even if you go RB, they took the small Irons ahead of the versatile Brian Leonard and the home run speed on the RB chris henry. . What does Irons give you that Kenny Watson doesn't?

How do they go RB in RD 2 when they had no 3rd round pick? That's insane.

------Vader
All their picks be a sucking. Nobody IMHO in the AFCN had a great draft. The clowns? Hardly. They do get one good selection for Thomas but trading up to get the mighty Quinn drops them down. I've never like Quinn and I'm proud they have him. The Bungles must have been smokin crack. Hall in the first was okay for them but to turn around and get a backup RB then a bunch of nobodies in the rest of the draft is stooipid. The Raven had a draft full of prospects and reaches. Troy Smith will never be a starting QB in this league IMHO. Glad they got him.
Even though it pains me to admit it......The Stoolers made the smartest move of the draft yesterday. -_-

Trading up in the 4th round to draft a punter was pretty damn clever considering all the stalled drives Big
Ben will have this year.

Got to give them some props.

I used to go over there and try to just talk some sensible football, but I haven't been in forever, and likely won't go back. Not only do they tend to be obtuse, they really don't understand football at all. How in the hell can they slam our draft without looking towards their own?
Timmons should be a good player for them.
And that punter is terrific. As long as Colclough is still returning Larson's punts, it's all good.

They hate the Timmons pick and like Woodley. The rest is mixed.

But wait there's more.....
.....Spike

Leon Hall is nothing more than a nickle-back, and a mediocre one at that.
I am soooo glad we passed him. I bet Heath Miller can outrun him....by a mile.

Santonio Holmes will blast past him like all their other reject DB's...bwahahahahah!

How pathetic is this...

And this stellar, insightful, well-read quip from the all-knowledge team at DaveWorld:

As far as the Bengals, I question the Irons pick, but think it could mean one or two things.

1. Chris Perry is still hurt and is on his way out the door.

2. Chris Perry is healthy, and they may be moving him to WR. Last Summer he got some time at WR, so with Henry on the BAD list Perry might help fill that hole.

Thanks for the take. The Post-Gazette thanks you too. Idiots.
