50w is absolutely LOUD.. Most club soundmen will fight with you to roll back the volume even with a little combo amp..
So many of the big league rock bands of yor had the stage lined up with dummy cabs meanwhile ran a little one speaker combo mic'd up in the back and everything else was PA/monitor... And for recording - stacks are hardly ever used with a better result than a small rig (although I'm really digging on the Native Instruments Guitar Rig plug-in for my home studio)..
I have to admit though that I'm totally not a Mesa or modern amp guy.. I had a Triple Rec and could not get a sound.. I like the old Marshalls - Plexis, Majors etc.. and some of the old Fender Bassman and AC30 amps work for me as well - it's just personal preference..
I'm assuming you guys are in the Cincy area.. Is that live music laundramat place still open? How about Bogarts?
Yeah, I only have the head/cabbie set for stage looks. It does sound great though. Hey, no worries on not being a fan of Mesa. 6L6's and EL34's are 2 totally different beasts. I can't play through a Marshall. Hell, I had a Mesa Stiletto (EL34's) which is supposed to be their amp to go up against Marshall, and I couldn't stand it. It wasn't bad for just screwing around I guess. Since I do have some relation with Mesa Boogie I like to hear Marshall players say that they like the Stiletto but for me, nah. Does nothing for me. I'm a big fan of that super high gain, dropped detuned thugga thugga sound like Godsmack and Metallica.

Skinny? Dude, I was about 240lbs in that photo. I carry it well. On top of that, that shot is only like 4 years old.

Well, that's what Jamie meant in another post anyway. I saw he was lurking and decided to see if he would take the bait. He did. He always does.

My friends and I used to laugh real hard about the tag that came on the amp.
It read: "Gorilla--go ahead, knock some plaster off the ceiling!"
It was pretty funny in 1985.

You're not supposed to wear anything under them, you know. As a Van Halen (read: David Lee Roth) fan, you should be acutely aware of that!
Well, thanks guys. Not only did you force to take the guitar out of its case for the first time in damn near two years, I've put on a new set of strings and tried to play a bit, too. Damn I suck, but maybe this time I'll stick with it long enough to be able to do something...
Look up the guitar player from Oasis and have him give you lessons. They aren't doing anything....

God bless you Mully for finding that. You are a true American hero.

My brothers and I met Matt Bruck in 1991 after the FUCK show in Cincy. We were really waiting to meet Ed, but he was totally impressed and surprised that we knew who the hell he is.

Ain't cheap...

Other than my wife's smile, it is the most beautiful thing in the world. -_-

If only I could play the damn thing...
A few years back I went to Australia on a school related trip and didn't have shit to do for like 2 weeks. I found a little guitar shop in the middle of nowhere and bought a Fender Telecaster that looked exactly like this one, color and everything. Probably the same model, only difference is that mine was made in China. It wasn't very expensive. Anyway, I sat in the hotel room and played that thing the entire time I was there....minus an amp. I didn't have a hard shell case to bring it back so I took the neck off and put the pieces in my suitcase and then put it back together when I got home. I really had no use for that guitar once I got back here so I ended up selling it to some high school kid that was looking to buy a guitar at a reasonable price.

Tele's are nice guitars though

Mine is a cheapo, too. Mexican made. Still a nice starter guitar, as far as I'm concerned, though. I like the way it plays as much as anything else I've tried, and I fooled around with a good number of guitars in the shop and at home, before I chose this. (My dad has a LesPaul, an SG, and several others that escape me at the moment)

I really want a custom Tele thinline, but I have to learn to play this damn thing first <_<

I just finished the book I was buried in, so now I'm looking to get back to practicing again tonight. I have no dreams of being great, but I need to be able to at least play worth a crap before I think about buying another one...

Make me a fair offer, I was going to put it on ebay because like I said I dont play and it was bought to help a friend out, and if and when I finish school and decide to learn I'd rather play on somthing that is more "me". It's practicly new, and hardly ever been played.
