He looks so.....happy! Nothing like being ripped out of your comfortable little sleepy-time world, only to be forced to breathe!
And he's so red! Newborns are crazy looking...aliens!
Congrats though man, having had two of those mewling pink things within the last 5 years, I know EXACTLY what you're going through.

yea, the lower photos are after being ruffed up my the nurse with a warm wash cloth, he turned red, he was also under that food warmer deal, we had the suction cup on the skull assistance, which worked great, it was only on there for one contraction/push sequence and BAM, out he came.. after like 20 hours of active labor mommy was half assin it. so we decided against the salad tongs and went suction cup, he has a red spot but no lump at all, he is doing well, i just got back to mercy, staying till around midnight/nurse checkup then home to relieve grandma watching our 2 yr old (whos second birthday is thursday)(thats right, that means when the bengals have ANOTHER bye week in october, im vacationing away from my wife, check the schedules last year and two years ago.. thats right it matches up)

im on hold baby duty now, so i will be bck shortly

I'm glad to see someone else going through this for a change.
My youngest is almost two and hopefully getting out of the "NO" phase of his life, and the five year old is now a "big man" that wants to help out.
I laugh thinking of you juggling babies like cotton candy, and...

he was also under that food warmer deal,

...that made me laugh out loud. After my preemie son Jacob was born, my beleagured brain wondered why they didn't have a "rotissiree" system on that bitch (like you see the hot dogs sweating on a rotating rack) for babies. I could see the little coil-heated ferris wheel now:

"He looks so cute when he's spinning and dripping grease."
AND:

"Here he comes! There he goes! Get the camera ready for the next go-round!"

Congrats man. You know from your experience with Ian that it is just the beginning....with no immediate end.
Hope you don't like sleeping very much for four months or so....

Congrats Ryan!

I hate to admit it to anyone, but I am looking forward to when I get to have my first child.

Glad everything went well.

thanks, the first one is likely the most disturbing instance known to man, the things you see and the place you see them are life changing, about 3 weeks later your mind if kind enough to allow you to pretend they never happened, 2nd time was a breeeze, its an amazing experience, life changing to say the least, its amazing how quickly things you treasured doing are pointless all the sudden, "hanging out with the boys" aka "getting drunk with retards talking about aqua teen hunger force" seems pretty backburner to anything child related. and if youve got a willing grandparents ready to babysit on a whim, its invaluable.

PS: the old guy in the photo is the doctor who delivered him, as many assumed im sure, his name is Doctor Johnosn, ... thats right, Doc Johnson.... someone else has to find that funny, and the nurses stuttering over it made me chuckle "doc jo*clears throat* DOCTOR johnson will be in....yadda"

good times...

i will be back with the full run down of eventsfrom start to finish in a few... just enjoying being home in a quiet house currently.
