JJ, Hall, Brooks, Thurman, Geathers all have more potential than Pollack.

Pollack would be a top 5 defender on our team if he was healthy and playing. A LB corp of Thurman, Brooks, and Pollack would have a potential to be one of the best LB corps in the league. I think we'll draft a LB first round next year IF pollack isnt returning next year to matchup with Brooks and Odell.

I'm going with a DT right now for next year.

I guess it all depends on what kind of players come out, but I could see us targeting a defensive lineman with Justin probably on his way out and Robinson, Thornton, Myers, and Allen's age starting to get up there.

no way we keep smith unless he gets a new deal within the next few days or weeks, whatever the cutoff is, slim chance we tag and trade him next year so we dont just lose him... and i think letting smith go risking pollack as a replacement is probably a 0% chance at this point, he hasnt played DE in years, he is a LB here, and i think thats final. moving guys around does nothing but slow progress.

yea he was worthless in that HUGE game in pittsburgh, thats all but clinched the division, 4.5 sakcs as a rookie in 14 games in a new position is pretty shitty, even if he did only start 4 games the whole year..

i mean look at a guy like landon johnson, he started 16 games last year, he has half of a single sack.. thats production, thats what this team needs, 2.5 career sacks in 3 seasons.. thats star power, thats whats going to get this team to the next level, not this 4.5 sacks in 4 starts bullshit, if its aint [ SIMMONS - MILLER - JOHNSON ] behind the d line, i dont want it, thats spells championship, that spells success. this pollack guy doesn impress me either. get his ass out of here. just cause he has 4.5 sakcs in 4 starts as a rookie in a new position and all three of these guys had a total of .5 sakcs with a total of 35+ starts between them in veteran years at the same position they always played doesnt mean pollack is good for a damn thing.

So, this means Smith MUST be payed the amount of the tag for this season? If he gets a long-term deal at a later date, it will be put into affect (wrong effect/affect?) next season?
