BJ, that is a masterpiece.
You know, as sucky as all this was because of my idiocy, at least it will now go down into Go-Bengals.com lore.
My son will be able to tell Go's son: "Man, remember when my drooling idiot Dad almost shut down Go-Bengals.com? They won their first Superbowl that year..."
...fixed...

Indeed--in order to be remembered, one must do something truly great, or truly horrendous.

Let's just say that you will be remembered for all time.

:D

I'm glad I wasn't felled by your son's lightning bolt of doom. But momentous deeds always need a catalyst--so I'll buy into this being the spark that kindles the Bengal's triumph.

Egad.

That'll teach me to get swamped at work and then take a vacation.

As for reinstating the original user numbers, if Invision is anything like SMF, it's pretty much a nightmare to undertake, if not impossible without risking a deep-six of the whole DB. Chances are when someone makes a post (or registers for that matter) it writes the data to an access log which pretty much hard-codes the data associated with that number. You can associate the new member (and their associated member name) to their old posts, i.e.
UPDATE table_where_messages_are_stored SET ID_MEMBER='their_new_ID_Number' WHERE postername='their_original_username';
.

The problem with doing it the other way around is that those access logs (or whatever the hell they call them in Invision) is still referencing the original member number which technically doesn't exist anymore. The rules of referential integrity would give you the :fing06:

Yeah, it sucks.

And GO, I'm sure you could find 3 people on this board that would promise to send you $5 a month to allow you to back this fucker up every night.

Hell, I'll volunteer...
