this right hear is the meaning of life...if you listen close enough

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

Breathe, breathe in the air.
Don't be afraid to care.
Leave but don't leave me.
Look around and choose your own ground.

Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be.

Run, rabbit run.
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to dig another one.

For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave.

read that OG and tell me what u think?

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found? The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

this song, as it did tonight,,,,still makes me cry

I will post some lyrics from one of my new favorite bands, Lacrimosa:

The words are mostly in German, which I hardly speak, but the beauty translates to English. Here's some from their album Elodia:
Am End stehen wir zwei (At The End There Are Two of Us)

No compromises
No silent tears
No kisses whose taste leads me to you
No repetition
No deception
No painful touch from the past
Only the hope of a second chance
That is all we have left
A second chance for you and me
A second chance for the two of us
You need to say nothing now
Don’t need to love me
I have hope for us both
Because at the end there are the two of us
The music gets through from far as a stranger
I don’t recognize you anymore
Your love remains sacred to me
Your life has slipped away
A farewell with no end
A cloister in your heart
A love with no limits
A warmth with no light
Thus you lie there cold and lifeless
And yet you warm my heart
My hope shall guide me
Through the days without you
And the love shall carry me
When the pain ends all hopes
It's hard to understand what Rudi is trying to get by everyone. He did say it was a mindset thing, which I completely agree, but I think the age of the mind has to somewhat be a factor too. Some minds bewilder and die with age, some become more wise, more genuine, more of the "thinking outside of the box, or this realm that we live in" type.

What's life to you? It is hanging out with friends on the weekends at the mall or sitting at home watching a lot of movies? Is it getting stoned out of your mind and popping in the new CD of your favorite band and passing out face down in your pillow only waking up for a midnight peanut butter and jelly sandwich?

Do what you want and don't wait for another day to act upon it, because by the time you remember what you really wanted or you finally make yourself go about it, too much time has been lost. You try to do those things ten years later because it was something that was so dear to you years ago, and although it's the same, it doesn't feel the same anymore. You have changed, your feeling have changed, and the interest is gone - you end up losing it forever. You can try and try for years to catch things up again, but no matter how hard you work at it, no matter how much time you put into it, more time will have passed and your cycle repeats, furthermore nearing you closer to passing away and not accomplishing anything that can really make you happy. When you get older and look back on yourself, wouldn't you want to see a person who did what they wanted and lived life the way they wanted to, and not by the hand of anyone else?

Don't fret and be unhappy on things that you cannot change, because if you can't change it, what does it really mean to you?

God, please give me the strength to change the things that I can
The courage to withstand and endure the things I cannot
And the wisdom to know the difference
