As much as it pains me.... No one can argue with the Yankees Titles <_<

Although they do it in an unfair, imbalanced sport
i hate all these teams but i went lakers they always put a championship team together (except now when they lost shaq), was about to vote yanks but i hate them to much to vote for them
Cincinnati Reds, first pro baseball team in USA.
Montreal Canadiens. 24 Stanley Cup titles, numerous Hall of Fame players, nuff said.

The Habs did it with less money and better players. ;)

OK, I'll bite:

NCAA HOOPS-Kentucky, the oldest, winningest program in all of college basketball, ever.
One of course could argue for UCLA here with all their national titles, but hey--I'm biased!

NFL FOOTBALL-This is actually hard! You could make a case for any of the older franchises here, but I'll go with the Packers because of Lombardi (he even has a trophy named after him!)

NBA-Lakers, but I hate them...OK, you could say Celtics here too...and don't say Bulls, they had nothing before nor after MJ's era...

MLB--Reds, without question...oldest team and Big red Machine...and fuck the Yank-offs...

COLLEGE FOOTBALL--Notre Dame or Army...or both...

NHL--any team Gretzky played on...if I cared...

Unfair and imbalanced only during 4 of their championship runs. To me, it comes down to the Yankees and Canadiens, and I'll give the edge to the Yanks. Not far behind are the Celtics and Packers. After all, when I think of the term "storied", I think of a deep, rich tradition. These four franchises have many championships and a history people remenisce about that goes back numerous decades.

On the other hand - and maybe some basketball fan can correct me because I'm admitedly sketchy on it's history - but the Lakers seemed to be relatively insignificant before about 1979. You simply can't say that about the Yanks, Habs, Packs & Celts.

kentucky.......i mean come on...they have more conference championships than the rest of the conference combined
The only team that I can think of that can really compete with the Yankees is the Montreal Canadiens.

Et Le But!
Vive Les Habitants!

(I am not a Habs fan)
The Cincinnati Reds, of course!

I'll take the Big Red Machine of 75/76 over ANY Yankees team. AND, we were the FIRST!
[quote name='Palmer4HOF' date='Mar 10 2005, 11:02 PM']what about those unbelievable UCLA teams that OWNED ncaa bball back in the day?!

An anomaly that will never be repeated...what have they accomplished since their unique situation in time for 10 years? Nada...
