If I was a tOSU fan, I would be sad about this. Now they have to play a real team in the MNC (if they get there).
Not if BC gets past Va Tech next weekend.

Fuckeye nation needs to enjoy their laughs now .... because I will be the one posting in 2 weeks after Penn State crushes their hopes .... and if they happen to get past Penn State ... there is no way they get past Michigan.

Hell they'll probably lose to both.
Like Rutgers?
Rutgers this year was in the top 15 at one point ... and last year beat the # 3 team in the nation at home ... just like last night beating the #2 team in the nation at home.

When was the last time Akron beat a top 5 team ? (i'll wait)

Rutgers, like Akron, is unranked.

Actually Rutgers will most likely be ranked on Mon ... and if you think Rutgers and Akron are comparable ... then you really know very little about college football, and should probably sit the next couple of plays out.

So once again ... Rutgers has beat 2 top 3 teams in the nation in the past 2 years .... when has Akron ever even beat a top 10 team EVER ?

I'll throw a little ammo your way this time.

Norfolk State beat Florida A&M lastnight in Tallahasee to raise their record to 6-1.

Their only blemish, a lost to Rutgers.

1. Akron isn't in a BCS conference
2. Akron has zero recent history of being ranked, nevermind ranked highly
3. Rutgers was ranked this season, and last season

The disregarding of the Big East is laughable. Like I said, when bowl season comes around we'll see how Big East teams do.

Now Rutgers is better than Akron of course, but they are unranked, and for years had been a doormat team.

Unlike USF, OSU has beaten every team they played handily.

And not everyone OSU has played in the past 2 years has been an "Akron"

The beat Texas last year in Texas. They beat a very good Michigan team.

They beat Iowa at Iowa when they were ranked.

How does last year have anything to do with the discussion of rankings this year?

What does Akron have to do with Ohio State`s ranking ?

USF has played Elon, Central Florida and Florida Atlantic.
Every team has a few cupcakes on their schedule.

Ohio State has beaten every team on their schedule
by a combined total of 250-39. They beat Purdue at
Purdue by 16 points, and Purdue was ranked in the
top 25 at the time. And that was their closest game.
They beat Washington at Washington. And Washington
had beaten Boise State when they were ranked #22,
the week before they played Ohio State.

Who else should be #1 ? Boston College ?
A team with a loss ?

Oh, I don't disagree they should be #1. I was disagreeing that Rutgers and Akron are comparable teams, and that beating Texas last year has anything to do with this year.
