A couple notables were back at practice Thursday, including safety Madieu Williams and tight end Reggie Kelly. But the others who were listed on Wednesday's "Did Not Participate in Practice" portion of the injury report - linebacker Ahmad Brooks, wide receiver Antonio Chatman, running back Rudi Johnson, linebacker Corey Mays and linebacker Caleb Miller - also didn't work Thursday.

Johnson was dressed in sweats and it didn't look like he was even going to do any work on the side. Wide receiver Chad Johnson wasn't dressed, although it looks like he's just getting a rest. Also, running back Chris Perry appeared in shoulder pads and looked like he was going to work on the side for a second consecutive day.

Right tackle Willie Anderson practiced for the second straight day, which is a good sign for his availablity to play this Sunday against the New York Jets.

Chris Perry practices

Tailback Chris Perry, on the physically unable to perform list since the start of the season, is wearing shoulder pads and a helmet this morning at practice. He appears to be practicing. Today is the second day he is eligible to practice, under NFL rules governing the PUP list.

Also this morning, starting tailback Rudi Johnson (hamstring) is on the sideline working out with a strength and conditioning coach. Linebacker Ahmad Brooks (groin) is sprinting on the sideline under supervision of another trainer. Linebacker Caleb Miller (back) is not practicing, nor is wide receiver Chad Johnson (unknown).

Right tackle Willie Anderson is practicing and working with the starting offensive line: left tackle Levi Jones, left guard Andrew Whitworth, center Eric Ghiaciuc and right guard Bobbie Williams.

Safety Madieu Williams (back) is practicing, as is tight end Reggie Kelly (ankle). Wide receiver Antonio Chatman (hamstring) is not.

Chris Perry works out; no move yet

UPDATED, 2 p.m.:

Tailback Chris Perry, on the physically unable to perform list since the start of the season, wore shoulder pads and a helmet this morning at practice. He appeared to be practicing but officially did not. Today is the second day he is eligible to practice, under NFL rules governing the PUP list. He remains on the PUP list, coach Marvin Lewis said afterwards.

The three-week window in which Perry can practice without forcing a roster move has not yet begun.

Also this morning, starting tailback Rudi Johnson (hamstring) was on the sideline working out with a strength and conditioning coach. Linebacker Ahmad Brooks (groin) sprinted on the sideline under supervision of another trainer. Linebacker Caleb Miller (back) and wide receiver Chad Johnson (ankle) did not practice. Lewis said Johnson had a sore ankle and was given the day off from practice.

Right tackle Willie Anderson practiced and worked with the starting offensive line: left tackle Levi Jones, left guard Andrew Whitworth, center Eric Ghiaciuc and right guard Bobbie Williams.

Anderson and Jones both said today they would start Sunday against the Jets. Jones said he appreciated the opportunity to keep his job after playing poorly Sunday at Kansas City.

Safety Madieu Williams (back) and tight end Reggie Kelly (ankle) both practiced. Wide receiver Antonio Chatman (hamstring) and linebacker Corey Mays (hamstring) did not.

Right tackle Willie Anderson practiced for the second straight day Thursday and he said he'll play Sunday against the Jets.

"They said it's up to me to play with the pain," Anderson said. "I think God put me in a position to come back early for a reason. I really believe this week is the start of something special for me and this team."

Meanwhile on the left side, Levi Jones said he went back to the tape to see why he struggled and got benched last Sunday. He said it's matter of continuing to play with his blend of speed and aggressiveness rather than adopting another style.

A couple notables were back at practice Thursday, including safety Madieu Williams and tight end Reggie Kelly. Anderson, strong safety Dexter Jackson (knee), tight end Reggie Kelly (ankle) and cornerback Deltha O'Neal (back) worked in limited fashion.

How many more weeks till we hear that Brooks really dislocated his hip and needs surgery but was misdiagnosed??? :panicbutton:
I have been thinking the same thing......How long does it really take to recover from a pulled groin?? This is getting ridiculous....
