No - not at all, he is all about cars and then cars some more. In fact his favorite sport is NASCAR. and I may have missed something if you were being cryptic or sarcastic. Clue me in if I missed it......seriously. :P
did you try calling Taters on kenwood road? its right across from marks bagels and all that shit.. their one of the "less wealthy" car repair shops
by blue ash chili? forgot about them... actually i almost thought it was a junk yard... good call..
Ouch - Japanese cars are notorious for rusting out, especially in the exhaust system as you found out. I think they've finally adopted the stainless exhaust that the American cars have been using for a while. Then again, the bodies of those cars also rust out so often because otherwise they typically have a nice life span.
i may be the only one who found irony here, as history tells the opposite story, at least with my exeriences. my civic is 8+ years old and has 165,000 miles on it. i dont think there is an american car made anywhere that has a single part on it better than a honda would. at least thats my experience, my parents and friends have had some american cars and are about $5,000 into repairs by this age in car if it runs at all. hell the timing belt should ahve been changed twice by now :D
Go you are in luck, I work at Performance Honda in Fairfield. I have about twelve years exp. working on Hondas! PM me if you want to set something up!

You better get that timing belt replaced ASAP. If it goes, your engine is shot (bent valves) and then you're talking HUGE $$$.
at that point im probably talking $750 deductible and check from insurance company for whatever pennies car is worth...

He's right....you wouldn't go to a junkyard for brake pads...or any other part that you need that generally requires a NEW replacement.
Also, how in the hell do you get an insurance check for a car that breaks down, Go?
Maintenance is on you...accidents are on them (or so I thought?)????

Oh young one (well atleast younger than me). This is when you allow your wife to drive the car and plow it into something. The wife is good for something, you know...........

exactly.. a broken down car is a broken into car with all kinds of ruined shit in it.. paint on seats, dash board all sledge hammered, etc..

i guess iwas saying i would set it on fire before spending that much coin on fixing an 8 year old civic

but the joke was lost when he took it all serious... buncha jerks. ^_^

Ha! But then your rates go up, and that isn't cost-effective either.
I'd just as soon push it off a cliff and report it stolen....but that's fraud.
Go is going to have to bite the bullet to keep this car running (and safe, he has to transport the kids in it sometimes) and he knows it. He's just fishing for the best deal, which you can only find to a degree.
Timing belt jobs on these little four-bangers require a lot of labor unless you know someone, it is what it is.

Well, I must have missed the joke...I thought you actually wanted to PAY to get it fixed!
Fire's a bad option, particularly when there are actually people in the car...although with your exhaust scenario, your catalytic converter could set the engine compartment on fire at any time....seen it before....

To clarify, my wife, after a sordid meeting with Creechnasty's camel-infused spermatazoa, was driving this piece of shit Escort wagon with her daughter and at the time my infant son in the car in Batesville and it caught fire because the catalytic converter had become clogged with whatever and the car literally caught fire on an overpass with her and the kids in it.
It was moments away from the fuel line melting and causing an explosion that could have resulted in....well, Creech not having any more illegitimate kids.
It was a moment!

Oh I know, but as in any car, they really don't "run forever" unless maintained, and the timing belt is a crucial replacement for ANY car after 100k miles.

It's kind of an inside joke. And by "inside", I mean there is no pun intended or otherwise!
