Something else about stealing mods too, but I don't know much about that. Some think he's back under the screenname "The ghost of chucky B." And at the same time, I want to ask all the people who are giving members here shit about visiting my site to stop. Blame me, leave them alone. It was me who PM'ed them and it was me who asked them to come to my site. So, banish me, suspend me or do what you want with my profile, it does not matter. I don't feel its best that I post or log on here anymore. With that said, I want to thank Go for creating this site and having me on board for over 2 years. -GoBengals- Posted January 19, 2008 Report Share Posted January 19, 2008 smoov was welcomed back here, he seemingly chose a power hungry black man instead, no worries either way. i'll always remember smoov winning the contest we had and getting a nate webster jersey and ruining websters career via the jinx. the situation is silly, and it was just put to rest as it wasnt worth ANY form of hassle over. essentially he plotted some magical takeover of the bengals fan cyberweb space as appearently im a power crazed psycho. he had 4-5 members in the lopp from the get go, bought a domain name, installed a cheapy forum with a generic pre-made skin, added a tacky logo and started recruiting. he basically seemed to have started at the highest post count and skipped people who hated him, asking all to join but "keep it on the down low" and promised them all to be modorators, which most are still and some are no longer there. eventually he realized one of the people he was inviting was going to nark about his "keep it on the down low" site and "plan" and sent me a pm... which was pretty cheesy and 2nd grade to begin with.. he sent me one that said "hey you gota a minute" as if we were on a phone call or in person.. and i replied "sup?" and he went into some drawn out pm about how he always had a dream of running a bengals website too, and he wasnt trying to steal members away and this or that.. and said he was gonna PM a few of his friends from here, which i thought was funny as more than 5 people had already reported his PM's to me, even funnier they are all mods over there still. so i went along gave him the goodluck do whatever, promote in the tailgate forum, announce the site, as others have here before, which is what the tailgate section is for. we are all fans, i can look beyond a few pm's ahead of asking me, no biggie. but the forum software has spam guards in place and bots are pointed out for spamming posts and PM's, well i got an alert from the spam guardian thing on the site about PM's from his username, sending dozens per days several days in a row, and it seemed he got a few others to join the fun as well. then a few members forwarded me the PM's he sent them on HIS site talking about how much of a egotistical dictator i am and how he knows people would rather go to his site than mine cause im such a douchebag and calling other mods here names, etc. so i figured that was enough 3rd grade BS on the internet for me to bother with. so i just blocked him from coming here and went about my business. as all of you know and saw recently, we have a great relationship with other bengals sites here, bengalsjunglecom cincybengals.com, bengals.com (kinda) and others post and link here often and its all good, offering a different atmosphere to fans is great, not everyone fits in here or at bengals.com or huddles or bengalsjungle.com, etc. MBS even. so why bother competing? im all about spreading the fanbase of bengals sites. furthermore, he later made posts on his site putting me down further, that he wont have to ask for money to support his site, he is financially stable, etc. which is funny., as his hosting is $6/month yea, i can afford $6/month too. not to mention he doesnt have season tickets or two kids. so on top of the $2,-3,000 i spend on bengals tickets and travel, i spend another $200-300 a month here on the server, software, etc. so i found the $80/yr investment he made compared to the $5,000/yr one done here extremely comical. i think he later removed some of those comments. anyway. im 26 and its the internet, its not worth my time to police people acting like 5th graders, the language and content here is pretty damn liberal, and aside from being a dick now and then i dont think of myself as some overpowering dictator. i found it funny that someone with a half page signature with their screen name in huge letters was calling me egotistical. anywho. thats that. His farewell post was obviously made before he was banned, so the ban really had no effect on anything. He had already said he wasn't going to post or even log in here anymore. Most of what he said in that post wasn't accurate. It might have been how he saw it, but it wasn't accurate. As far as I know, no one here was given any kind of shit whatsoever for joining his site. If someone was, I'm sure they'll speak up here. Hell, I joined his site. I've always liked O N Y X. Still do. Maybe time will heal any wounds that people feel over whatever happened. Anyway, I've always had 2 or 3 regular Bengal boards that I visit. Even though this is home for me, different boards offer different things. You guys who post a lot on his board aren't now "the enemy". I don't know if Go and the other mods agree with me, but my guess is that they all do. I don't care if you post on his site. I don't understand sneaky's point of view, but whatever... to each his own... i do miss those guys b/c they could spark up the boards... i looked over their site, and again i have to ask myself... why the hell would they want to alienate themselves like that? For me, i'm not like backer on that note... i don't go to any other bengal boards but here... they almost always annoy me for some reason... thanks for clearing up the situation for us go... get back to dictating btw... i looked over the site for about 5 minutes and it seems to be moderated more aggresively over there, than here... however you've managed to not fuck up the mod rules is sweet man... Jamie_B Posted January 19, 2008 Report Share Posted January 19, 2008 I dont think it has to be told that I concider him a friend, and a kindrid spirit of sorts in that we both have a similar sence of humor, and probabally was closer to him than anyone else here, that said I have hung out with Go on multipule occasions and have a yearly tradtion of going to the baltimore game so I concider him a friend also. So therefore I post on both boards. However without getting into it and trying as best I can to stay nutral in the whole situation not everything said in this thread is the complete truth either. Some misunderstandings happened, some things said here either are intentionaly untruthfull or they dont realize what they said just isnt the case and didnt realize what was said isnt exactly how it went and Im purposly being vauge because I was done with the situation and am done with it, and will leave it with that.
