Votto

Featured Replies

I've only seen him play this season thanks to the free MLB preview on Directv and he seems to swing a hair late on everything. I keep hearing the announcers harping on what a slow starter he is, but at this point I'm wondering if Hatteberg should be playing.

Volquez looks solid, however.

Fair enough...
every GM and manager ive ever heard talk say it is impossible for a rookie to get into a groove when they are platooning. Votto needs to play everyday up here or in AAA.

From what I recall he started out very slowly in April last year in AAA - then tore the cover off the ball from that point forward and then did very well in his big league call up last year, + 300 batting average. Oh and by the way - can Keppinger fucking just hit!!!!!!

They need to keep throwing Votto out there, and if he doesn't pan out, Hatteburg is a solid second option.
And yes, Keppinger is clearly a monster at the plate. I love his at-bats.

read that thread again. they are IF votto can get it turned around. he wont get out of a slump though if he isnt playing everyday. he needs to get some PT for a while so he can work out of the slump.
If there is anything I love, it's playing players through slumps and sitting the hotter hitter on the bench!!! [/sarcasm]

when votto is the future and hattebergs "hot hitter" isnt really that great then yea its more important to start votto.
I will say this, despite his current funk, Votto has a LOT more natural ability than Hatteberg. I also really like what I have sen ov Votto's defense overall, so far.
Take VOTTO out and pinch hit VALENTINE for the final batter.

I hate when they put so much confidence in Fatty valentine. He gets up there and just swings for the fences. They put him in that position over and over and over again last year. He failed 19times out of 20 and hit a homerun one fucking time.

Let the kid hit. Keep valentines fatty ass Giant stupid swings on the bench. Even after all they needed was a base hit to tie the game. Fast ball down the middle and he swings as hard as he can and fouls it off. 3-2 count.

going into today Votto was hitting like .167 and Hatteberg was hitting .083. Dont u wish they would play Votto > hatteberg? or am i the only one that would prefer the better and younger hitter.

On gamecast it looked way outside the strike zone. I was wondering the same thing.

Did he swing for the fences every swing?

If he did he's a fat dumbass. And i would have rather seen votto up there.

According to 700wlw he did swing for the fences quote "Valentine takes a big cut at that pitch and fouls it off" That was a 3-2 count and all we needed was a base hit. Pipe down and punch the ball for a hit. He's all or nothing.
700wlw also said the final strike of the game looked to be high and out of the strike zone.
