Well for those who want to mock and not speak with any sort of education about it, I suppose nothing.
I thought he made some valid points. And when you're a nonbeliever. It's kind of hard to not mock. Especially when they start speaking in tongues and blessing their food and stuff.

By the way. I got some edumacation today. I was gonna take my little bro and cousin to the bodies exhibit. But my stepmom wouldn't allow that because she didn't want my little bro or cuz to be exposed to a real museum which would dispute their beliefs. So I said fuck it, I'll take them to the creation museum. Wow, it was way worse than I had expected. The kids enjoyed it because it had dinosaurs and a petting zoo. But I expected much better arguments from Ken Ham and AIG. That was about as pathetic a thing I have ever experienced. I bet the "museum" converts more people to atheism than anything else.

I cant speak to the creation musem as Ive never been, but Ive seen or heard Mahar on several occasions reguarding this topic and he is nothing short of a bigot. Which is a shame because on many other topics I like him.

So he goes around and interviews the nuttiest fruitcakes he can find on religion, to make his movie more humorous. What about all the good Christian people who go out every day and do good things? Kinda like arguing against gun rights by interviewing all the nuts who live in compounds in the woods of Montana who "need" 50 cal weapons and Mark 19 grenade launchers for "self defense" instead of those who can make an intelligent counter-argument. Bet you won't find any of those in this film.

Pass for me.

He's the same way on political topics. You just agree with him on those.

Does that make their beliefs or their religious practices any less religulous? Nuts or not, talking snakes and 4,500 yr old dinosaurs is pretty ridiculous.
Talking snakes? 4,500 year old dinosaurs?

I don't know any Christians that believe that nonsense.
Vocal minority that is all.

Sadly I know quite a few people that do believe that nonsense. Hell some people believed it so much that they donated 27 million dollars to build the creation museum. I watched well over 150 kids have this nonsense embedded in their heads today.

I'm glad that you recognize that as nonsense. So what about praying, everlasting life, resurrections, demons, angels, and all the other miraculous things?

Praying
Praying works, meditation works best.

Everlasting Life
Yes there's everlasting life, but does it apply to everyone, and what is it exactly that lives forever?

Resurrections
One could be ressurected upon physical death into a heaven, or a hell realm.
If we are discussing the state thought to be reality . . . then the body would have to be made functional enough to hold consciousness again, or have those requirements circumvented . . . not out of the question when dealing with qualities described as miracolous.

Demons
Are we talking the red skinned, cloven hoof variety, or are we talking about our personal demons like lust, greed, and anger?

Angels
Protectors, and guardians of the world system. How is this so far fetched?

I'll tell you whats really nonsense . . . this whole thing is nonsense. The solar system, the planets, the galaxies. Sand, Water, Fire, Air, Food, Television, personality. Cicadas are nonsense. Football is nonsense. The internet is nonsense. Life is Nonsense. Yet here it is, and here we are trying to make sense of it.

Bill Maher, Keith Olbermann, and Jon Stewart...

Comedian / USA Network soft porn, former sportscaster, and comedian. Heady stuff right there. What is worse is two of the three are broadcast on comedy central.

BJ if you get any more credible, and reliable, sources for arguments I don't know what I'm going to do...

Whats worse?

Those who misinterpret the bible, take it literaly, and embrase a dogmatic dead end.

Those who misinterpret the bible, take some of it as literal, and some of it as spirit, and embrase a dogmatic dead end.

Those who misinterpret the bible, reject all of it, deride those who cherish it, and embrase a dogmatic dead end.

Would you prefer the college dropouts of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity instead.

Stay in school kids.

So you don't wind up retarded like these 3. ;)

Oh, I'm sorry, have I ever used any of those three as sources for a post???

Please provide a few links where I have.

Before you go throwing accusations, or whatever this post is, get your facts straight.

Not quite sure what you were gaining from this - other than one of two things...

either you're dragging down your esteemed Bill Maher, Keith Olbermann, and Jon Stewart (assuming you view their opinions in a good light) or you're dragging down Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity (assuming you view their opinions in a good light).

You're equating one to the other - so, you tell me. I do find it hysterical that two of your favorite sources are guys published / carried on Comedy Central... might as well be the Soap Opera Channel.

I guess I assumed from your Reagan quote that you liked one of those 3 jackoffs who can't speak of him without creaming their nazi costume.

Why don't you give me some media parsonalities that you prefer instead ? (This ought to be good)

No ... all 3 are college educated. Maher and Olbermann graduated from Cornell, with Stewart graduating William & Mary.

In a quasi-corporate-fascist system like we have ... one of the only places for widely disseminated critique ... is to embed it within comedy, parody, and satire.

Ah... you "assumed"... you know what that does, don't you? As for media personalities - I really don't have any favorites as all really have an agenda one way or the other.

But, I guess I can assure you I don't pull my "preferred media personalities" from Comedy Central... a channel that Stewart himself has said:
Stewart responded that the media is in dismal shape if "[it is looking] to Comedy Central for [its] cues on integrity". When Carlson continued to press Stewart on the Kerry issue, Stewart said, "You’re on CNN! The show that leads into me is puppets making crank phone calls! What is wrong with you?"
which was pulled from Wikipedia... another interesting tidbit - admits to smoking "heavy amounts of marijuana in college".
No ... all 3 are college educated. Maher and Olbermann graduated from Cornell, with Stewart graduating William & Mary.
So, BJ you're saying that the only way you're a success is to have a college degree? Interesting. Sounds a little elitist, don't you think?

See my comment regarding Comedy Central above. I don't doubt (even agree amazingly) that comedy does play a part in critique - that is why political cartoons are so good and done so well - but to use these folks as sources??? Comedy Central? Seriously?

Too, critique / criticism is taken a lot more honestly and constructively when a person doesn't have an agenda from the start. Rarely do you find that anymore.

What is your opinion on Neal Boortz?

I didn't ask for "favorites" ... I asked for who you prefer. I'll word it this way ... who in your opinion are some media personalities with more credibility than the "Comedy trio" ? I have many ... but I am sure you would view them as elitist liberal "book readers".
