Just thought I would stir up some conversation. All of this data was found at:

it will change again
Mirror's the Pro Bowl?

Didnt Anderson play in the Pro Bowl? Yet he isnt rated as one of the five best players on his own team.

Perhaps that first word of mostly was where you got tripped up?

I think that there are only two elite QB's in football right now, and they are named Carson and Jordan Palmer.

OK, seriously, I think only Brady and Manning belong on that "Elite" list because of their sheer statistical supremacy over all the other QB's listed. That and SB wins.

I have a feeling that we're going to get into that "stats versus wins" debate again...

I'm not debating....just reporting.

And on that note:

Pittsburgh can run it, throw it and defend against it. They have the best quarterback (Ben Roethlisberger) in a division with three very good ones (Carson Palmer in Cincinnati, Derek Anderson in Cleveland and Roethlisberger) and are more evenly balanced than the Browns, who still haven't appeared to solve all their defensive problems yet.

Nice...

referencing an article written by a columnist fired from The Boston Globe for plagarism... well done.

didn't see where the positional rankings were on the espn site so couldn't tell who wrote them. Just like to know who's opinion I'm taking for gospel...

but, as they say - it'll change. Ben could be #1 by season's end...

That is some funny shit.

Maybe you havent noticed the media love affair for a certain QB playing in Massachussets? He will be ranked #1 for a few years after he retires.

That is true...

But if Ben throws for about 4500-5000 yards and 55 TD's... they'd have no choice.

You'd think so....but I bet even if Ben (or any other QB for that matter) did have a season like that....Brady would still be ranked first in nearly every publication.

 • 2 weeks later...
147.0 > 35.3

That is all.
You guys played the Texans... that is all. Now please, shutup.

Bengals looked horrible today as usual, against a ROOKIE QB! That made my day.

We actually played a good team, we're gonna rock Pissburg's world next week. Just a bump in the road

not really when your oline isnt blocking for your QB your rating isnt going to mean much, of course I expect oftt to do what he does, you know not watch the game and look up the stat box which really says nothing about the game itself ... i think he might be retarted

When calling someone retarded, one should at least spell it correctly.

Anyway, the way I remember it, Ben's O-line didnt protect him very well last season....he seemed to do fairly well.

I know this is just a chatroom, and it doesnt really matter...but my god you are a terrible speller.

Anyhoo....so you are saying that Ben can survive with a mediocre to poor supporting cast, but Palmer cant. I agree.

More helpful info for all to peruse:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writ...07/week1/5.html

I think I'm starting to think Carson Palmer belongs in Jay Cutlerville. He hasn't been a commanding presence on the field for some time, I'd say going back to mid-2006, and I'm hard-pressed to think of him in the same league with the top five or six quarterbacks. I did put him there in my top 50 in the SI NFL Preview issue, but after watching him Sunday, I almost wish I could have that one back.

lol, you really dont think i spend the time to make sure things are spelt right on a message board do you?

If the guy playing center was even mediocre you might have an argument, but he is horrible.

Peter King used to work in cincinnati, he has an axe to grind and nothing he says reguarding the bengals can be taken seriously.

There are rumors that Peter King was keeping Art Monk out of the Hall of Fame forever, so to me, he has no credability either.

OK, you're doing well.....now explain how this guy has no credibility.

My Goats ...

4. Carson Palmer: Ninety-nine passing yards? I always argue that Palmer is the third-best quarterback in the NFL. It's time to officially revisit. The Ravens' defense was outstanding, but that's unacceptable and unbelievable.
