JC, ive got final four and championship game tickets

Wow 1 win away from completely destroying me preseason expectations. i hope they do it! the game was AMAZING and i think everyone should experience a final four at least once in their life. even if my team wasnt in it i would have enjoyed that experience. what a great atmosphere it is.

If all three are on Monday night, could be a rout. I keep hearing the David and Goliath story, but what about the story about Duke having 3 guards on the roster this year? Thats probably the most impressive thing out of it all.

Well, I think it's unbelievable to me because we lost our best defender, our most explosive scorer, and one of the two slashers we have in Gerald, Elliot, and Dave. A team that got whooped in the sweet 16. We had a marginal recruiting class coming in that wasn't going to make an impact right away and guys like John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Xavier Henry, and John Henson were heading off to schools that were either already good, or were in the path of becoming good. Our chances looked pretty bleak starting off the season.

We are Duke, but not close to having as much talent as last year. Two guards were on the roster until the summer and the third guard couldn't play defense, so he wasn't getting a lot of burn throughout ACC play. Zoubek and Thomas were marginal and Jon, Kyle, and Nolan were all playing above 35 MPG. Not a lot of bench play. Coach K really adjusted well to this group and put them, obviously in the best place to win a NC. I don't think any Duke fan expected a title this year. We were all looking forward to Kyrie and Seth arriving next year to save us. Now it looks like were just reloading our clip.

Maybe that was the outlook at the beginning of the season, and maybe they struggled early (I don't follow them, I hate them), but you don't get one of the four #1 seeds for sucking.

they beat teams they should beat but got raped by georgetown earlier. it just so happened that all the teams that had a shot at a 1 seed over duke lost late in the year lol

They're gonna mangle Butler too.

Probably one of the easiest paths to a Championship I can remember. In any other year, WVU is a Sweet 16 team, they had no point guard, hell even when they had Truck Bryant he was mediocre at best. Hell, UConn beat them by 11 this year, that's saying something. They sat back this tournament, handled their business, and watched Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, et al choke.

Gotta give credit to them though, all you can do is win the games on the schedule. Luck is always a part of sports.

i would say Dukes path was harder than what UK, Kansas, OSU and Cuse ended up playing against lol. They beat the team that dropped UK, they have to beat the team that dropped Cuse if they win it all and UNI is no stud haha. Baylor is better than anyone else Cuse/UK/Kansas faced. OSU really did have the perfect path setup for them after GTown got dropped to get to the NC game but they couldnt get by UT. Butler has had a pretty tough path through to the NC and they have taken care of their business. I am not over looking them at all for tonight. Duke needs to bring there A game and not let Butler hang around.

Butler can really play. They've earned their due. They aren't a Cinderella anymore. Duke better be careful.

I don't think you will find a guy out on the court in a Duke uniform that underestimates the Bulldogs. Not one. They have come this far, and are far to intelligent to do that.

Butler plays the same game Duke does essentially. Will be a fun game to watch. Hope it goes our way! Go Duke!

I was talking about their path relative to other champions. It's not a sleight against them, UConn's path in '04 was ridiculously easy until the Final Four when they had to play Duke. Their Championship game against GT was a cakewalk.

They never were a Cinderella, Bung. They were ranked in the preseason top 10 and have won 25 straight games. Simply being in a mid major conference doesn't make you a Cinderella.

George fucking Mason was a Cinderella.

I didn't mean that Butler was a Cinderalla [i]this[/i] season per se, only that the perception of them is that they are one due to their mid major conference.

At any rate, they should prove a tough out for Duke, but I do expect Duke to win, even though I guess I want butler to.

I'll be surprised if I watch much if any of the game though. I just can't get into it as much once my team is out of it. Its the same for me with the Bengals.

yep and considering all of the hate/disrespect duke has gotten this year they arent over looking anyone. especially with 3 seniors starting that want that title real bad and Nolan Smith who wants to win a title in the same city his dad did.

By far the deepest team this year. Next year..it will be tough losing Nolan and Kyle, but if Kyrie stays to play with Austin, which I don't expect, but they have talked about it..we are again the deepest team that year too. The lockout could keep Kyrie here.

I just hope that Austin can come in..do his thing..take off..get to the NBA and play like he should and have the effect on us that Kobe should have had. If UNC is getting the #1 recruit because of Michael Jordan, then Kobe would have lured so many more people here too Duke. I think Austin could do just that if he plays to his potential in the NBA. SOOOOO Nasty. Without a doubt will replace Nolans scoring abilities.

After Harrison spurned us..nothing but good has happened. K refuses to let Roy get the best of him. K refuses to let anyone get the best of him and now Duke has the most talent in the country..pulling in the #1 recruit to go with a lot of 3-4 year players with Gbinije, Plumlee, Quincy Miller/Quinn Cook/Myck Kabango, and hopefully Tyler Adams. This man knows how to do it..unlike nothing but 1 and dones, I'm soo happy I have 18174843 first rounders, Cal.
