George Vogel said Chad has looked better than he has ever seen him.
He said he appears to be a man on a mission. And that mission is to
ressurect his career and the Playoffs. He said he is saying and doing
all the right things. He has become more of a leader. He is trying to
will his team mates to believe they can win it all.

Head Coach. He was asked about his Defense being physical this season.
And he said this Defense appears to be more physical than any we have had.
And the Offense needs to play with a lot more physicality than they have in the past.

Not verbatim.

Tonight's scrimmage is on Homer 1530 AM. We will also be tweeting @joereedy with a full report on the blog afterwards.

Not playing tonight
CB David Jones, RB Bernard Scott, RB Kenny Watson, S Corey Lynch, LB Keith Rivers, LB Dhani Jones, LB Rey Maualuga, LB Brandon Johnson, C Dan Santucci, G Evan Mathis, DT Pernell Phillips, TE Ben Utecht, TE Daniel Coats, DE Frostee Rucker.

Scrimmage Rules
The intrasquad scrimmage pits the Bengals' offense against the Bengals' defense. The players wear full pads and play at full speed, with tackling. There is scoring (see below) and a play clock, but no game clock.

Scoring method:
The offensive team

● Normal scoring for touchdowns (6 points)

● A first down counts for 1 point (this point is not added on a touchdown play).

● A pass completion of 20 yards or more counts for 1 point.

● A rush of 15 yards or more counts for 1 point.

● NOTE: Field goals and PATs will not be attempted.

The defensive team

● An interception or a fumble recovery counts for 5 points.

● A touchdown (by interception return or fumble recovery return) counts for an additional 6 points.

● A safety counts for 4 points.

● Forcing the offense into a punt, missed field goal or failed fourth-down conversion counts for 3 points (if

offense makes a field goal, the defense does not receive points for forcing the attempt).

● A sack counts for 1 point.

Sounds like they are holding a bunch of guys out.

Offense is the home team.
That's not too surprising. We need to keep healthy bodies at key positions. The way Scott has been impressing everyone, I'd hate for him to go down with an injury now, given the RB depth situation.

From Joe Reedy's Twitter . . .

Another good run for Benson. When he's running on sweeps it's good. One straight ahead runs, not so much. #bengals
