If you can pick up a channel from Dayton (I think) or Columbus.... Or change your billing address to somewhere out of market.

I would definitely advise against relying on that information.

Something to think about tonight. In the "Who Dey Rey" Article they were talking about how tonight Pits James Laurinaitis VS Rey Maualuga. They were talking about the Rams taking James over Rey and who would play better tonight. Here's my perdiction for the "Match up" tonight.

Laurinaitis is the starting MLB for the Rams. As a OSU fan I am very familiar with how he plays. He is a smart player, he does pretty well at using hard work and brains to overcome some Physical shortcomings. He will be in on seemingly every tackle tonight. Although he tends to get drug a yard or two before he brings you down. James will be a good NFL player for sure, will he be a great player? Probably not.

Maualuga hopefully will start today and get plenty of PT. Rey is a much more dynamic player. He plays with ferosity and Power, he is a physical freak with is strength and speed. That said Rey is not known for his Knowledge of the game and for getting by through using his head. Rey is a big-time playmaker, but perhaps not as consistant. He has the "Un-teachables" when he gains the experience and the knowledge to be in the right places every time, he will be great.

Who will "Win" the Matchup?

Depends,

I think that James will have a ton of tackles tonight, however most of them will be yards past the line of scrimmage. He will have his name called alot, but not for anything spectacular.

Rey will have less tackles to be sure. However the player wont be dragging him for more yards. He's gonna have some tackles for loss tonight. Look for him to lay the wood on somebody, perhaps make a reciever drop a catch or runner fumble. And look for him to get some QB hurries, knockdowns, or a sack. You won't hear his name as often as Laurinaitis, but when you do It will most likely be accompanied by "What a Play!!"

That Gives our boy Rey the "Win" if you ask me.

I wouldn't be so sure. If you look at their collegiate careers, which is all we really have to go on at this point, James made a ton of "Big Plays". In fact in their final years, James had more than Rey. More TFL, more sacks, more total tackles and more forced fumbles. They had the same number of INTs and PD.

Rey is much better than James at 1 thing. He is a more violent hitter. James has better hands and is better in pass coverage, and is a more sure tackler. If he is in a scheme that will ask him to make big plays, he is more than capable. Rey might have a little more upside, but James is a much more polished player right now.

You may be right, in that little animal is more polished, but we really didn't need polish, we got that with Rivers. We needed a Beast, and every indication shows that Rey is a beast. He's not always going to be in the right place, but he's going to be ACTIVELY NOTICED in whatever place he's in.

It will be blacked out in both Cincy and Dayton markets. Local Channel 12 WKRC will show the game tape delayed starting at 11:35pm. If you're local, I think your best bet to see the game live is to go to PBS or hope that somebody is streaming it online to watch on computer, i.e. JustinTV.

why do you continue to hate on Rey simply because he didn't got to OSU? You've been doing it ever since JL decided to come back for his senior year.

How am I hating on Rey? Did I say anything that was not true? My analysis of a player's strengths and weaknesses is not going to change simply because he becomes a Bengal.

you've consistently gone out of your way to take jabs at him.

On the contrary all he did was present the facts (i.e. their stats from their final season) with very little personal commentary.

To all the out-of-market fans, below are some early links for the game tonight against the Rams. Keep in mind that the live feeds are hit or miss and we won't know which ones work until game time. Also I've heard rumors of a complete blackout or a delay in broadcast. If anyone is planning on staying up all night, there will be a rebroadcast of the game on NFL Network at 2am. I'll re-post at 7pm any new info or steam links.

For the live stream at 7:30pm

"Consistently"? To the best of my memory, I have made 2 posts about him since the Bengals took him that could in any way be construed as negative. One was last night when I echoed what the coaches said about him being undisciplined and playing out of control, and the other was the post above where I used statistics to support what I saw to be strengths and weaknesses of Rey and James. And I was more defending James than bashing Rey.

Some things worth keeping an eye on tonight for the third exhibition game between the Bengals-Rams (that is, if you're viewing it live or on tape delay):

Since this will be a one half deal for the starters will the play calling be more in line with what we should expect during the regular season? In the past two games, Cedric Benson has got a lot of work early and been out by the second quarter.

Who becomes that third running back? Benson is a lock and Bernard Scott is a near lock which leaves DeDe Dorsey, Brian Leonard and James Johnson. All three played well last week but I still think Leonard has the edge. The main reason why Scott is a near lock is that he would have to clear waivers to make the practice squad. A team would snap him up immediately. Scott has played well in training camp to merit a spot on the final 53, but it would be nice to have two experienced backs like Leonard and Dorsey there too.

Tom Nelson and Corey Lynch are vying for a spot. Lynch needs to pick it up in these last two games while Nelson could win himself a spot if he has a nice punt return tonight. Expect Nelson, Quan Cosby, Scott and Dorsey to see return duties tonight.

How does the offensive line continue to adjust to J.T. O'Sullivan in there? He doesn't release the ball as fast as Palmer, which is one reason why there were more sacks last week. And speaking of J.T., can he continue to move the first team offense.

Who will have the big play tonight? The Bengals already have seven plays of 21 yards or more in two preseason games and the receivers have been great on yards after catch.

Will the run defense continue to play well? They'll have a good test tonight in facing Steven Jackson.
you've had several, pre and post draft. You were very vocal about not liking him pre-draft and seem to chime in on his deficiencies whenever Rey is discussed. If they aren't meant to come off that way, my bad.

UPDATE: The blackout is making it hard to find a legit live stream for the game tonight. Below are two additional links to accompany the previous five that I've listed in an above post. Don't be shocked if these either turn out to be "audio only" or bum links. If anyone finds anything live, please share.
