AmishBengalFan
Memorial Stadium will be filled today, as the 3-1 Buckeyes pay a visit to their neighbor, the 3-1 Hoosiers. The LT and ABF families will all be in attendance - LT, Mrs LT, ABF, Mrs ABF, and ABF Jr. Make no mistake, Indiana is a HUGE underdog, and Ohio State travels so well that I'm expecting 60-70% of the crowd will be clad in Scarlet and Gray tonight. But I'm hoping the Hoosiers will give our visitors a game. Defend the Rock! AmishBengalFan
IU Head Coach Terry Hoeppner's mantra had been "Play 13". His goal, take the downtrodden Big 10 doormat Hoosiers to a bowl game. In 2007, he lost his battle with brain cancer. Assistant Bill Lynch stepped into the shoes Coach Hep left, and guided Indiana to a 6-5 record going into their season finale against Purdue. The Hoosiers needed a win to fulfill Hep's goal, but they hadn't beaten Purdue in 5 years - not a single player on either sideline knew anything except that Purdue ALWAYS beat Indiana. The Hoosiers took a 24-3 lead into the 2nd half, only to see Purdue dominate and forge a 24-24 tie with just a few minutes left. Indiana took the ball, drove the field, and set themselves up for a FG that would win the game, push IU into the post-season, and provide a fairy-tale ending that even Hollywood wouldn't dare script. If you missed the game, here's how it ended:
Bengals1181
IU's got some talent this year. IMO OSU will win, but IU's not just gonna roll over.
Le Tigre
What a wonderful experience! College football in an environment that it was always intended to be. And, of course, shared with the honorable Amish and clan! IU!
