Kelly not coaching the Sugar Bowl....He has been hired by Notre Dame

About the defense...I was never dissatisfied with Kelly's coaching ability on that side of the ball. Remember back to just last year, the defense was the strong suit of that team. Their performance this year is just what you get when you lose 10 starters. They were starting a converted QB at OLB!

And let's be clear on something else, too - the universities rape the great athletes and are lucky to benefit from this idiotic, corrupt system. Athletes receive schooling and athletic training; in exchange, the university makes millions off them and they represent the university nationally. Think about the revenue big-time programs bring in, and they are 'paying' the players something with a retail value no more than $40,000 a year.

This, of course, is not the case for small programs which don't rake it in. However, their players don't go pro early, either.

im confused. uc raised prices and sold out every game. what wheels and deals? im jealous. it wasnt the best job in the conference but right now it is and will be for a few more years at least

Take the UC blinders off. Kelly produced great results in a tough situation and that's why ND came after him.

UC is bumped down the list because of the stadium, fan support, and tough recruiting situation.

Kelly was Great because he won Big East without top Big East recruiting classes.

Recent evidence of this is the Houston coach declining an interview.

um Kevin Sumlin interviewed with UC then UC took him off their list and chose to not offer him a contract. then the agent for Sumlin came out and said he was removing himself from the UC talks after they had already removed him.

im glad the point about ticket prices increasing and not decreasing was ignored...

The defense wasnt good in big games last year either. And I know they lost 10 players but Kelly also didnt recruit shit to replace them. He ignored the defense and didnt coach them up. His style is score a lot of points and hope the D doesnt give up more. He isnt about building a defense.

And yes the NCAA rapes the athletes. I'm not sure where that comment came from. The coaches get the freedom to roam at will and bail on contracts but the players have to lose a year of eligibility if they want to leave after their coach bails on them. Coaches should have to honor their contracts or players should be allowed to transfer after a coach leaves mid contract. NCAA needs to do something about that because it is unfair to the players.

Stop being a hater. You're quickly turning into a troll on this thread.

Kelly has already said he sees no reason why he can't keep the same stringent academic requirements of the other losing coaches before him. Lets see how he does with his new job.

Oh yeah, ...did I mention you should stop the hate?

Unlike you, ...I actually watch the games.

what makes you think I don't watch the games?

Anderson has 81 career pass attempts, 2 career passing TD's, and is 2-1 in 3 career starts.

None of that makes him "excellent".

Now that Jeff Quinn has been hired as the head coach of Buffalo, and Butch Jones has been hired as the head coach of UC....why is Quinn still coaching the team in the Sugar Bowl and yet Kelly could not?
[/quote]

Because Buffalo recruiting doesnt = ND recruiting lol. It is Quinns playbook and he knows the offense the best so damn right he is going to coach the sugar bowl.
