Nope, sorry. I don't think I've watched college football since Brian Bosworth was at Oklahoma.

As an FSU fan all i can say is thank god. Man that guy could recruit and coach.

This may benefit Ohio State as well. There are a couple stud recruits that OSU and Florida are both in on.

Urban Meyer is the head coach at Florida. He won 2 National Championships in 5 years at Florida.

Why announce this now and not after the Sugar Bowl? If this is truly for "health reasons," the only explanation I can think of is that he wanted to pre-empt the story coming out from another source. Other than that, the timing just seems really fishy to me. He couldn't wait 7 days? Very weird.

He knew they couldn't beat UC without a little extra motivation.
In response to the shocking news that Florida coach Urban Meyer will be resigning as the team's head coach for health reasons, an NFL source tells us that Meyer has informed the team that he has a heart problem.

Making the development even more surprising is the fact that Meyer is only 45, and by all appearances he is in good health.
I think he just realizes that once Tim Tebow and his Tears Of Glory leave the program, he won't be able to replicate his "success", so he's concocting a reason to leave while at the height of his "powers", thereby preserving his "legacy".

I think your an asshole

I read that he suffered some chest pains during the SEC championship game and after consulting with his doctor and family, decided that this was the best move.

Sadly, it's apparently just another case of urban decay. :rsju31uh9:

Yeesh. That might be why he couldn't wait 7 days as he may need to get some sort of procedure quickly.

I was sad to hear that an apparently healthy 45 year-old man has to resign because of his health, but it does lead the way for two potentially interesting scenarios:

1.) Tim Tebow takes over as their coach next season and then finally ascends into heaven after winning a National Championship, or

2.) Charlie Strong tells UofL to get fucked, and Florida hires him, leaving Louisville even more screwed up than they already were.

50 bucks says allegations of NCAA violations surface within weeks.
I have to say that was my first thought as well. Obviously I don't know the real skinny on his health and all that, but it's just so rare for these driven, nose to the grindstone 24/7 coaches to just drop it all. I think most of them wouldn't know what to do with themselves.

But since there are no "imminent" health concerns, I still wouldn't be shocked to see violations in a few weeks or months
