Wow, sorta sounds like Bryant is snubbin' us. Oh well.

I believe if the Bengals sign Owens, Simspon is going to be cut or, more than likely, sent to the practice squad. I just do not see them signing Owens to what will likely be a one year deal and not drafting a WR high. No way they can carry all of those WRs on the 53 man roster.

I don't know if Simpson is still eligible for the practice squad. Plus, if they sign Owens I wouldn't say Simpson is gone for sure. It depends on a few things.

1) Does Matt Jones step up and earn a spot?

2) What kind of WR do they draft? If they draft someone who can return punts, Cosby may be in trouble instead of Simpson.

good questions who knows jones may be the odd man out come camp. and i hope they wouldn't cut cosby. he's a good return man and at this point he has more catches and much more PT then simpson

TO may be a lot of things, real or otherwise, but if you care to know, he's one of the best WR's to ever play the game.

I'm up for him. Separate your mind in terms of his stats versus his antics, almost all of which occurred when he was younger:

Yeah, that's right. 15 YPC for his entire career. 6th most TD's in NFL history. Elite. Elite. Look at his 2007 numbers with the Cowboys. 15 TD's. Almost 17 YPC.

Sign the man.

Thing about TO is, the first year he's somewhere, no problems, typically. Year 2 and later, big issues. He really keeps himself in great shape and takes care of his body, so he's still got something. It wasn't long ago (2 years) that he outran a 24-year old

He's a gamble, but for a year, why not? I can't believe I'm saying this, but at this stage, he can help. And the competition between he and Chad will fuel both of them. If Carson and Marvin are in, I'm in.

Palmer's comments are leading to a "smoke/fire" situation. All the chatter up until this point was from Chad or Rosenhaus. To have the Bengals' QB endorse signing T.O. means that the interest could be mutual. The release of Coles means money shouldn't be an issue and the rest of the UFA market is pretty weak, besides Antonio Bryant. Owens is clearly in the twilight of his career, but he is still a threat and can produce big plays. Besides, he never causes a distraction in his first year in a new city. He was a model citizen in Buffalo last year and still produced despite a skaky QB AND o-line situation (55 receptions, 5 TD's, "explosive plays" of 27, 43, 39, 46, 98, 51, and 41 yards).

I'm locked in now. I got to have TO or I'm going to be pissed. Strange when a couple of months ago I would have had said pass.

Since the 2nd half of the 2007 there has just been this "Blah" surrounding the fan base. Even during a good division winning season the fans just kinda sat around with that "Blah" feeling.

If TO is anything, he is a pop icon. Same with Ocho at the very least the signing would pump excitement back into the Bengals. Make them trendy again. Make the Bengals hated and other fans actually care the Bengals are coming to town.

Where the Hell is Chad? It says he posted that pick on March 7th, and there's still 55 minutes left in March 6th (Eastern Time Zone).

Haha, apparently it is.

Pop quiz! If it is 5 pm in Ohio, what time is it on the west coast?

Maybe he's in Europe.

I don't know why the date would say that. But Chad is in LA practicing for DWTS
and trying to get into the Oscars. He even tried to take that girl from Precious.
But she said she was taking her Mom. She did say she thought he was hot though. LOL

Jason Lacanfora said on NFL Network last night, that he thinks Carson saying he
is OK with T.O. is a PR move. They are kind of building up the signing by letting
everyone know that Chad (obviously), Carson and everyone else are in favor of this move.
Lacanfora sounded like it is imminent. Just a matter of time.

I was kinda thinking similar thoughts. Last year we got the "Coles" pimping piece about week before the signing. It was odd that Hobson would go into so much detail at that time.

WR hunt narrows to Owens, Bryant
By Joe Reedy • jreedy@enquirer.com • March 6, 2010

With Nate Burleson and Kevin Walter signing with other NFL teams Friday, the Bengals' best chance of adding a dependable veteran wide receiver seems to have been reduced to two possible candidates: Antonio Bryant and Terrell Owens.

The specter of Owens possibly landing in Cincinnati started to ramp up again Friday night when his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said on Sirius NFL Radio that the team has spoken to both him and Owens, but that the next move is up to the Bengals.

"Where we go from here I'm not sure, but I think it's at least a positive dialogue," Rosenhaus said. "And we represent another great receiver on Cincinnati in Chad Ochocinco, who would love to have No. 81 as his teammate. And we'll just see how that plays out. But certainly that's something that is a possibility. I guess that's about the most I can say right now."

With many wondering how Owens and quarterback Carson Palmer would be able to coexist on the same team, Palmer told the Bengals' official Web site that he would not have a problem and would welcome the challenge.

Said Palmer in a text message to Bengals.com: "His past doesn't bother me at all. If any QB can deal with extravagant WRs, it's me."

The possibility of the Bengals also being in the market for Bryant is looking better. The early favorite to sign him appeared to be Miami, which is Bryant's hometown, but the Dolphins have not been in contact with his agent, Lamont Smith. A visit to Cincinnati has not been scheduled for either Owens or Bryant.

I'm good with the TO signing but I did hear a concerning thought on the radio the other day by I think Thornton.

As JT put it, if TO signs with the Bengals, Drew Rosenhaus basically has the Bengals over a barrel next offseason as he represents the Bengals top two WR's. Owens would likely only be on a 1yr deal and Chad would be going into the last year of his contract.
