HDMI wall plates, hiding all tv cables...

Recommended Posts

so in the new house, on a wall, we are going to have two book shelves and between them is going to be an LED tv hanging on the wall... i dont want ANY cables anywhere on the wall.

its easy to access the otherwise of the wall both from teh garage and from the basement.

is there a wall plate of some sort that had like 3-4 HDMI inputs anda power plug?

whats the best way to do this and have the floating tv type look on the wall?

also, i will have the satelite receiver, blu ray, xbox, etc on the bottom shelf of the book shelf, so the plugs should re-enter the wall behind the book shelf and plug in there.. i can seemingly so a power strip there for the power cables, but ill need the TV one to make it there perhaps....not sure..

any help is greatly appreciated.

I am not sure exactly what you are looking for, but I have both of my plasma's mounted on the wall....

They sell paintable/diff color strips that you can hide the cables in that have sticky stuff on the back to run on the wall.....

They are hardly visible. They come with straight and curved pieces that you can cut and fit to your liking.....I got mine at Lowes.....

I can take and post a pic if you like...

Use something like this:

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/MIDLITE-PRODUCTS-4641-W-/28-11092

These:

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/50-10805

Which snap into these:

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/MCM-CUSTOM-AUDIO-50-10170-/50-10170

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/MCM-CUSTOM-AUDIO-50-10165-/50-10165

And cover them with a double gang decora wall plate.

Or, you could just go the cheap way:

http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/DATACOMM-ELECTRONICS-45-0021-WH-/50-8817

with this on the bottom:

And a good product for surge protecting the TV:

A quick Google search of "hdmi wall plate" turned up a number of options. Home Depot, Crutchfield, Amazon, among others.

yes, i am aware that hdmi wall plates exist.. i found them, but never found more than 1 or 2 ports on it, so id either have to do two side by side, or find another method, and since i assume many people ahve more than 2 hdmi devices, that another alternative or product existed... just looking for other ideas or options or something i hadnt seen or thought of yet...
