I hate to say this, but a top ten draft pick for a prove QB like Big Ben is a really good bargain. I am sure a lot of teams woud jump at that deal. Ben's contract is actually very reasonable for an elite NFL QB.

He's also proven to be able to make plays when scrambling due to a crummy line, which may be an advantage to a bad team. Of course, if he goes to college bars again after the trade, Saint Roger will suspend him for 500 games on you.

I thought for sure he'd only get two games, so I'm pleased to hear it will be at least four and possibly six games. No doubt that the Steelers got preferential treatment on this one, with their early season schedule being soft so that missing Ben probably won't wreck their season entirely.

hmm well we know its not the rams (confirmed) Redskins (mcnabb) or Lions (stafford). I don't think they'd trade him to the Browns, and the Seahawks just gave up a 2nd round pick for Charlie Whitehurst.


That leaves:

Chiefs (just spent a lot on Cassel)

Bucs (a possibility, but just took a 1st round QB)

Raiders

Bills

Jags



I think it will be one of those last 3, more likely the Raiders and Bills.

Any suspension is based on # of games, not # of weeks. If a bye occurs DURING a game-count suspension, that week does not count. For example, If Roethlisberger is suspended for 6 GAMES, he will not be eligible to play until the Steelers' SEVENTH game, which would be in week EIGHT.

Personally, I want to see him on MNF at PBS. Of all teams, his reception at PBS would be the most brutal in the league, and I could see women's organizations taking the opportunity to make a splash as that would be the first prime-time game Roethlisberger plays. At the very least, the banners at PBS would be classic - he and his team deserves the unwanted and unflattering attention they would get if he were dressed for the 11/8 game.

He deserves more. From the GBI report, it sounds like he is guilty of sexual assault, but the local cops botched, perhaps deliberately, the investigation. Anyway Leftwich isn't a bad backup. He's probably better than Delhomme who is starting in Cleveland.

I'd think several teams in the top 10 would trade their first pick for a good QB. Rams should have offered the 33rd pick to see if Pittsburgh bites, then they could take Suh too.

Glad to see the commish still has the Infiniti Gauntlet glove on and dropping the fist on that punk. I don't care if Ben was charged or not because based on the report, if that was my little girl he would have had a ticket to the gunshow. I'm not talking about flexing my bicep either.
