Ironically (at least in my personal experience) it tends to be independant contractors and small "mom and pop" businesses, you know those who we would assume to align conservatively in policy making, who reap the most benefits of illegal labor. [/quote] Disagreeing with a black guy is not racism. Race baiting is one of the most disgusting things about politics today. It is easy to toss out that accusation in a discussion. Rather than argue the merits of a particular viewpoint you toss out words like racist and make references to the Ku Klux Klan. It is easy, politically expedient and intellectually lazy. Consider this for a moment though, when you scream racism at anyone that disagrees with you it tends to lose it's impact. There is real racism in this country believe me, I live in south GA and see it on a daily basis from all walks of life. It needs to be pointed out and people should be outraged by it. But when people scream racism at everyone they disagree with or use it as a flagellum to beat down their political opponents people tend to tune it out. It sucks the oxygen from the room when there is still real racism that needs to be pointed out and addressed. Your accusations and the constant flow of accusations from others lessen the impact real racism should have on our society. Think about it. Secondly, I do not need a lecture on racism, I have participated, both overtly and subtly, in my life on many occasions. Nor, do I use racism as " a flagellum to beat down my political opponents". If you have read any of my posts, then you are aware that I am as logical as anyone on this board, and can disagree without being disagreeable. I use reason and thought to post and reply, and have no aversion to the facts. You and I do seem to have differing views on areas, but if you treat me with respect, you will get respect in return. In all seriousness, I never said that and I assume you're referring your comments to big_dish... I will say that when Obama was elected I thought the race card would finally be put away and we could deal with issues on a common level... alas, the race card is still being brought up - and by all different people.
