I know it's off topic, but if he is gone, so are the Bearcats.

I signed it... My question is who in the hell are they going to bring in that is better than Huggins? He's a big name with a record at Cincinnati that is unparalleled..
He's addressed his drinking problem and has rid the team of players that don't abide by the rules..
The timing is awful... Going into the Big East the team needs his recruiting and coaching skills for than ever...
I think the president has a personal vendetta against him......
Im an Ohio State fan but I can appreciate a coach that's taken a basketball program and made them into a powerhouse that's recognized nationwide...
Keep the man there.... He's earned it and deserves it.

bullshit.
He has dug his own grave. He's taken too many chances on too may players with potential "character issues" and now with the new UC President, it has finally bit him in the fat ass, his recent "transformation" after his own brush with the law (not to mention life and death--he's lucky to be alive!) notwithstanding.

Huggs is a good coach that took too many chances on players with talent but problems. The new UC prez is right to consider buying out Hugg's contract because the school should be as equally known, and financially supported by (and IS) it's academic/medical/hospital program as it is by the basketball program, that, while it generates the most revenue out of all it's athletic departments, should not overshadow the fact that UC is a SCHOOL first, and a place to play B-ball SECOND....I'm not sure Huggs ever got that...the guy with the gun on campus (for WHAT?) was the last straw...

Anyway, it's a moot point because UC is destined to be the Vanderbilt of the Big East regardless of Hugg's presence next season...mark my words, they will struggle...

Fuck Zimpher that damn femi-nazi bitch .This broad is nothing more than a power mad adorable cuddly wuddly teddy bear. This is the same type of bimbo with a degree who sued and forced title 11 on universities. Men's sports programs were destroyed just to create formerly non-existent women's programs that women still don't join. Women's programs don't bring in SQUAT in terms of revenues to Universities. When Huggins is fired in the next year or so by this self-righteous feminazi, UC basketball will take a nose dive, as will revenues generated by a great program run by a great coach. Where's the tolllllllerance these so called liberals are always screaming about? Coach Huggins can't make a mistake and be forgiven? Apparently not by power mad femi-nazis.

You should have said a team that's recognized nationwide as a C-USA powerhouse (and that's BEFORE the emergence of Louisville, Memphis, etc...)...

And a team that's recognized by it's amazing gift to make the tourney every year and never advance...and that is a perfectly objective assessment, my UK affiliations aside...I don't hate UC, i like them, and I think that Huggs IS the problem and the timing for the success of the program couldn't be better (provided they bring in a quality replacement, that is...)

They're going to struggle in the Big East regardless...this ain't the C-USA of the 1990's....

That was going to happen with or without Huggins, now that they're entering a conference that can actually play (with apologies to the RECENT emergence of teams like Louisville, UAB, Memphis, etc) ball...

have you noticed UC has struggled in the C-USA CONf tourney for the last couple years? Why is that? And how much better do you honestly expect them to be aginast the likes of UCONN, Syracuse, etc.....

I'm a Dayton fan and I really couldn't care less about the Bearcats, but college coaches have a fine line they have to walk. They're expected to win, but do it with saint-like integrity. It's hard to do both.

I think getting rid of Huggins would be a huge blow to their basketball program. You can't ignore his results, even if you do question his methods.

You have to keep in mind that going to a better conference greatly increases your recruiting power. I'm sure Huggins would be successful.

Also, you can say that Huggins IS the problem, but UC was shit before he came.

I can't believe I'm defending Bob Huggins. <_<

I'd rather my squad win the NIT every year than be nationally ranked in the top 20, lose their conference tournament, get a 3-8 seed in the NCAA's and be done by the second round EVERY year (except 2?) in 14 years...but that's just me...just arguing with the so-called "results"...beating Austin Peay year in and out might put butts in the Shoe, but...?

Now up to 1955. As a UC alumni, I know how important basketball is to the psyche of the school and to the community. Many may not remember the bleak years just before Huggins, but I do. He has brought UC to national prominence and pretty much deserves tenure as far as I'm concerned.

Go CATS!

No you wouldn't. As a Dayton fan, trust me. Making the dance is MUCH better than not making the dance, no matter what you do when you get there.

So he could actually get a blue-chip guy or two rather than juco transfers with a questionable past? I guess I'd call that an upgrade! And i'm still mad at the Flyers for that UK defeat at the crown in 2000(?)

And I can't believe a Dayton fan is defending Huggs either... :P

Actually, I can't believe I'm defending UC! I honestly think they'd be better off with a different coach...but that's just me....

I was also there...I probably yelled a drunken off-color comment in your general direction...

Wasn't that the game when Tayshaun Prince was a freshman and launched a 3 at the buzzer for the win, only to have it bounce harmlessly off the rim?

Good times, good times...

Yes it was, and I probably laughed and flipped you off. :)

All was right with the world when that shot didn't fall. David had kicked Goliath in the nuts.

I couldn't agree more...David's kick still has my sack in a twisted condition...

That was the year, I believe, that the Flyers actually made the tournament and by doing so, surprised some local fans (I don't recall them advancing far, but like you said, just to make it...)

And reliving the memory is causing me to fart in your general direction... :D

This is far more fun than speculating on Drunky Bear's future, isn't it?

:P

Maybe I should move this to the proper forum before Own e-mails the moderators.

Wait. He started the thread in the wrong forum. :)

No, don't do that...I absolutely LIVE to see what Own reports...

If he forgets and actually reported himself as "out of forum", it could be cause for a temporary ban...let's see...

I guess I'll stop trying to make things easier for you, by using the report button.

The other board I've been on for the last 5 years relies on it, and I know the moderators appreciate the help in pointing out the shit. They also don't reply to them, asking what they should do...

We've hijacked this thread and we might BOTH be subject to reports/bans ourselves....uhhhh, go Huggins?

And I still fart in your general direction for that UD/UK debacle.... :D

Fart away. My wife's been doing it for 21 years. I no longer have a sense of smell.

Well, I can still smell Cleveland, but that stench seeps into your pores.
