id think maloney since he has been up before and wood hasnt. and it wouldnt be bad to have a lefty on the mound for a start
I think it could be wood just for the reason that its his spot in the rotation...but they can probably hold maloney back a day cause i think he pitches thursday?

I just read that Chapman has been announced as the Bats' starter for Thursday. The plot thickens.

No Friday starter named yet

CINCINNATI -- The Reds' probable starter for Friday is still listed as TBA. Manager Dusty Baker has not revealed who will take the place of injured pitcher Homer Bailey, who is on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. All three candidates -- Sam LeCure, Matt Maloney and Travis Wood -- are at Triple-A Louisville.

LeCure, who was just named the International League pitcher of the week for 16 scoreless innings and two wins over two starts, pitched a one-hit shutout on Saturday. He is 5-2 with a 2.55 ERA this season. Lefty Matt Maloney is 4-1 with a 2.72 ERA and has big league experience. He last pitched on Friday. Another lefty, Travis Wood, won his start on Sunday vs. Scranton-Wilkes Barre and is 2-4 with a 4.15 ERA this season. Whoever the starter is, Baker said he would be in the Reds' clubhouse a day early on Thursday.

Thanks, old. Can't wait to take the kindergarten graduate to the game. I told him that we might get to see a new pitcher, but he didn't seem to care who's pitching.

I'm suprised we aren't moving Harangatang up a day.

Then again the astros 3 pitchers we face suck, so i'd like to see a sweep and could see anyone of the 2 mentioned doing a decent enough job to get a decent start.

If Arroyo was scheduled for Satur4day, he would'veprobably pitched tomorrow, but not Harang. If they did move Harang up, at least it would provide an excuse for his poor performance over the next 2 years.

CINCINNATI -- Right-hander Sam LeCure will be called up from Triple-A Louisville and make his Major League debut for the Reds on Friday vs. the Astros.

LeCure will fill the rotation spot of Homer Bailey, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday with right shoulder inflammation. Reliever Enerio Del Rosario was called up from Louisville to take Bailey's roster spot.

That means a corresponding move will be made on Friday to open a space for LeCure on the 25-man roster.

In nine starts for Louisville this season, LeCure was 5-2 with a 2.55 ERA, 15 walks and 51 strikeouts in 60 innings. In his most recent start vs. Scranton-Wilkes Barre, the the 26-year-old threw a one-hit shutout for a 5-0 win. LeCure is reigning current International League pitcher of the week after he tossing 16 scoreless innings over his past two starts.

i think they send lincoln or masset down.

The way Nick has been pitching, I hope it's him (if he has any options left). We need him, but not if he's blowing games every other appearance.

I thought Bailey was put on the disabled list.....
He was but they brought up del rosario or ,however you spell it, for bullpen help. He took bailey's spot.
Now they have to make a move to clear a spot for lecure.
