In all actuality, the real E3 starts tomorrow and ends on Friday. Today and Yesterday were just press conferences. The games and hands on impressions will start tomorrow, and thats when it bes gettin good....

Can someone give me the lowdown on Final Fantasy? I have never payed attention to it or any of the games because I thought it looked insanely stupid.

I played one of them once... for about 10 minutes, and suck,"Fuck this, it's a waste of time."

And, sometimes... all I hear about is Final Fantasy this, Final Fantasy that. AM I MISSING SOMETHING??? It reminds me of Yu-Gi-Oh (the card game thing).

I have always played games like... Socom, Madden, MVP Baseball, Gauntlet (a little, but not as much), Grand Theft Auto, and Tekken.

Is Final Fantasy that good? Maybe I just don't understand the significance of the game????????

If your not into Role Playing games dont bother.... but if you are FF is one of the best, it's got deeply involved storylines that make it alot of fun to play. Too bad its only on PS2....because xbox owns.

Yeah it does...

And FF is the greatest RPG series ever. It spans 4 systems and generations. I too at one point thought it was stupid. the first final fantasy i owned was 1 and it got as much play as i milly vinilly record. Which isnt much. But i grew up with the rest of the series and when 3 came out for the snes i was finaly old enough to grasp the concepts in the game. I mean it deals with so many issues as u travel through a world. ITs great!

Oh yes b/c I'd HATE another GTA game on a next gen console.....You serious? These are some of the best games across any console and I'm all for ones to debut on the PS3. I also read that developers for ps3 will NOT have to code for high def but xbox will, that will lead to more games coming out for ps3 quicker which hurts xbox. xbox has a 6 month lead on sony and by what i've seen and heard, they'll need it. i just hope sony matches the price of the xbox. I know the specs are better but they must understand that xbox has a big advantage coming out in time for Christmas.

That depends on how Microsoft helps the developers with built in code to take advantage of in their particular games code so that they don’t have to write all the HDTV code and just use Microsoft’s code instead, and Microsoft is VERY good at providing that kind of stuff. So most likely it won’t effect delivery time of the games, and I for one am happy they are requiring it, it will make for a expected level of quality that I wouldn’t necessarily get with the other systems.

Sort of, you do go to battle scenes and choose your weapons and or magic and or creatures summoned like you would with a game like Magic the Gathering, but the big selling point of the FF series is that the stories are so damn good.

ps3 estimated at $465 but that is a guess since its based off the japanese price.

All 3 are way overpriced imo. Its tough to thrown down 400 bucks for a system and then have to put at least $50 more per game.

the other question i had about xbox and ps3 is if they are HD compatable, then that means you have to buy the component video cables to hook it up and run in the 5-10 dollar per foot range for the cheap ones. So in reality your looking at a $30-100 purchase just to hook the damn thing up.
