Apparently there's a limit on how many videos you can put in one post:

Diva and I saw this over the weekend and LOVED it.

Who is Diva?

And that movie I thought did horrible marketing. I think it is because he looks just like his character from the sorcerers apprentice or whatever so I assumed every time I saw it that it was a kids movie, then when I looked closer I realized it wasnt.

Diva is BengalDiva, aka my wife. She has not been on the board in a long time though.

I didn't get the "kids movie" impression at all from the trailer.

yea I wouldn't call that a kids movie trailer at all. I'm surprised its only PG-13.

Not much profanity, no real nudity, no sex at all, and most of the battle scenes are not terribly gory.

These are really promising...hopefully Battle LA will rival District 9 in sci-fi movie enjoyment.

I really liked District 9, though its the type of movie you really like, but don't want to watch over and over again.

If you liked the more "human" feel of District 9 check out Monsters, which will be on DVD/BR in a few days. Not an action monster flick ala Jurassic Park but a very well made (on a shoestring budget) tale about people dealing with a horrific situation..

I saw Green Hornet back in December. It sucks!

The plot doesn't hold well together. The action scenes are OK, but the silliness really bothered me (did not watch the TV series, so I don't know how it compares). I am not expecting a masterpiece, but a good plot and good action scenes would have worked for me, and this movie doesn't have it.

Several DC critics I know are going to shred this to bits on Friday.

The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear.
But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.
Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents—townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors—all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.”
Daniel Craig’s energy weapon is quite handy! Anyway, the movie Cowboys and Aliens will be released on July 29, 2011.

Limitless

Rango
“In the film, Rango is a pet chameleon who lives in a terrarium. He has long thought himself a hero, but then finds himself removed from his contemporary American southwest surroundings and ending up in an Old West town called Dirt, which is populated by various desert critters garbed like characters out of a spaghetti western. As he’s always thought himself a hero, Rango establishes himself as the lawman, strolling the streets as a sheriff like character.Unknown to him, the ‘good guy’ role doesn’t do very well in Dirt — with a whole cemetery filled with good guy tombstones. But that doesn’t stop Rango from trying, constantly seeking to fit in, with his surroundings, no matter how challenging — just like a good chameleon! At a certain point in the narrative, Rango will come to question everything about himself.”
The film will hit theaters on March 4, 2011.

But Matt’s silent protest against maturity comes to a screeching halt once his unrequited high school crush, Tori Frederking (Teresa Palmer), walks into the store. When she invites him to an epic, end-of-summer party, Matt thinks he finally might have a chance with the girl of his dreams. With his cynical twin sister Wendy (Anna Faris) and best friend Barry (Dan Fogler), Matt embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime evening. From stealing a car to a marriage proposal to an indescribable, no-holds-barred dance-off, these friends share experiences that will change the course of their lives on one unforgettable night in the 1980s.”
The Paramount Pictures release is set in Ohio in 1979 and introduces a troupe of six youngsters who are using a Super 8 camera to make their own zombie movie. One fateful night, their project takes them to a lonely stretch of rural railroad tracks and, as the camera rolls, calamity strikes — a truck collides with an oncoming locomotive and a hellacious derailment fills the night with screaming metal and raining fire. Then something emerges from the wreckage, something decidedly inhuman.
