listen again.

He said the ball was a good 2 feet foul. Freeze it at 0:46 the ump is signaling fair. If he had said it was past the foul line 2 feet then I'd agree but the ball was ruled fair.

just because you didn't use common sense in listening to what he said doesn't mean he made a mistake. ;)

are we really going to do this again?

That statement he made could have been taken, and in fact was, either way.

as long as the same problem persists.

It's more than clear from the context, and the way he reacted (in admiration) to the play, that he wasn't actually saying it was a foul ball.

This team is vastly underachieving compared to what I thought they would do.

Rolen getting old fast really hurt.

Arroyo is finished (especially in this ballpark).

Wood is nowhere near the pitcher he was last year.

Volquez could go either way every start and may not be back next year.

Cueto is an ace but is proving to be injury prone. As is Bailey.

Stubbs is turning into Adam Dunn with far less power.

Bruce isn't progressing as we all had hoped.

I'm much more concerned with this team this offseason than I was last year.

I'm glad Stubbs got his 200 Ks. If he'd have held him off at 199 or something it would have been, in a curious way, some kind of morale victory. By allowing him such a milestone total perhaps either Drew can sort his eye out, or Dusty can stop being so damn loyal to a guy who is nearly an automatic out.

Good effort today from Arroyo though. Shows he can be effective if he just pitches down a bit.

The Reds now have 32 1-run losses. The last time the Reds had 32 one-run losses in a season was 1963 (32 losses).
