Masset in the game... runs to be scored shortly

And there it is.

2-2

You can't put that one on Nick. If Hanigan doesn't throw that ball into CF that run doesn't score.
Why Masset continues to be put in tight games is mind boggling.

He needs to be sent down to get his mechanics together or something.

4th straight time he's done this, come on Dusty.

Why he even threw that I don't know.

He had no chance of throwing him out.

That run we lost on the ground rule double is going to cost us...

Until he shows he can pitch better he should not be put in tight games.

He's clearly the worst reliever in the bullpen currently.
GREAT catch Heisey!!!

I dont rip on dusty often, but hes an idiot throwing masset out there game after game in these close games.

Let him get his stuff together before putting him back in these close games.

4 losses 3 on masset. get a fucking clue dusty stop putting him in these situations you are helping no one.
Dusty is stupid for continuing to put Masset out there. He now has 3 of the teams 4 losses..
Masset = The suck

HE is 0-3 this week.

This team could be 11-1 if it weren't for him.

I have absolutely no confidence in him. I don't see why Dusty does.
Who was Baker supposed to put in after Chapman was forced to leave?

Cordero for 1 2/3rd inning save?
Ondursek who just pitched 1 2/3rd innings last night?
Bray who has pitched in 4 of the last 5 days?
Maloney who is basically a mop up/inning eater?

He went with Masset and then Hanigan threw the ball away which allowed the tying run to reach 3rd with 1 out and then score on a ground out.
That's got to be so frustrating for pitchers to go out there and have a great game, only to see it ruined. Bummer for Wood.

Anyone but Masset at this point.

Cordero makes $12M he should be able to get more than 3 outs anyway

Since today is an off day, HELL YES!!!

Heck, I'd rather see Janish out there than Massett in a close game right now.

It's pretty hilarious.. People chide Dusty for sticking with guys.. And then when they turn it around, talk about how smart he was to stick with them. Sports fans are amusing.

Who is talking about how smart he is to stick with Masset right now?

Masset's early season struggles throughout his career are well documented.
I can see putting him out there to pitch, but you have to have a short leash.

These stats are before last night's game ...

April 2010
10.1 innings, 17 hits, 13 ER, 11.32 ERA, .379 BA
April 2011
5.0 innings, 10 hits, 6 ER, 10.80 ERA, .400 BA
May 1-end of season 2010
66.1 innings, 47 hits, 16 ER, 2.17 ERA, .198 BA

Duh! Of course not right now, he is struggling... You don't praise the move until he snaps out of it and starts kicking ass again... Just think back to last season when they were struggling with some cold bats.. He got massive criticism for continuing to plug the guys into the batting order.. Then the team got hot and Dusty was a genius with his hands on all the right buttons.

I remember at the end of last season everyone praising Dusty for his wisdom to stick with struggling players who became instrumrntal in our push for the div championship.

It's a long season and we are doing well. We will lose more games. But if Masset can get his shit straightened out he will be very valuable in the games ahead. This is not football where you can lose out of the race early.

Sorry. I am not going to praise Dusty later for running a guy out there 3 times in a week,
just because he feels he HAS to be the set up man for Cordero.

A managers job is to make moves to win games. These games now are just as important
as the games in September. They all count.

I know we will lose more games. That's what makes losing games they should have won hurt.

Find another way to get his shit straightened out without costing the team wins.
I mean they were winning in every instance that he was brought in. HE lost them.
Give him a short leash, something. Don't just sit there and watch him literally throw
the damned game away.
