Alert to media members: Watch your back exiting the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati after 1 am. According to Hal McCoy of the Dayton Daily News, two MLB.com writers were robbed gunpoint early Monday morning after the Reds beat the Cubs, 8-7.
Barry Bloom lost $500 in cash and Thomas Harding lost $100 and both lost their credit cards to a young man dressed in red.

“I thought the guy was a fan as he approached, but he said, ‘We can do this the easy way or the hard way,’” said Bloom. “I started to walk away and he began yelling at me and pulled this big gun that looked like a Glock. He said, ‘Put your wallets on the ground.’ We did and he picked them up and ran off.”
Perhaps it was a Reds fan upset with the relentlessly upbeat coverage of the team despite Cincinnati being five games under .500?

Gen X'ers and up don't carry cash, we carry plastic.

Boomers and later generations don't trust plastic or carry cash and carry cash particularly when traveling.

I've got a really old family...

gotcha. Most times I'm lucky if I have $10 in my wallet.

Consider yourself lucky if you have $0 in your wallet and just plastic IMO. My check card and credit card get me anywhere basically that I never have to visit an ATM unless I'm making a deposit. Or picking up some weed & lottery tickets :)
