CINCINNATI - John Ralston was the head coach. ESPN's Tom Jackson was a hard hitting linebacker for the Broncos by way of Louisville. Bob Trumpy was chronically microphone shy and Tommy Casanova was just getting started in his life's work at UC Medical School. They were all part of the last Bengals win over the Broncos in Denver. So was the late Paul Brown. He was still head coach for that 17-16 conquest, in November of 1975.

Consider the late Boobie Clark scored the winning touchdown. These names have little or no reference for a new generation of Bengals fans who know little of the swaying stands at the original Mile High Stadium.

If they made visiting media queasy, one wonders why the team played like they were a half bubble off plumb. Cincinnati is 6-17 all time versus the Broncos. Denver has won 11 of their last 13 meetings. They seemingly own Cincinnati.

But the Bengals can make a down payment on retribution this Sunday. Cincinnati has a healthy Andy Dalton and Andrew Whitworth's knee issue is behind. The Bengals are ready top strike against an injury riddled Broncos team.

And the survivors of their last meeting will have fire in their eye on top of that. They are still a bit chapped about their 2009 opener at Paul Brown Stadium when Brandon Stokely snatched a deflected pass out of thin air and raced 87 yards with 38 seconds left to beat the stunned Bengals 12-7.

Redemption is at hand my friends: Bengals 21-7. Book it!

Dalton's injured wrist at 20 percent

September, 18, 2011

By Jamison Hensley

Andy Dalton is expected to start at Denver, but there's a question of how effective the Bengals rookie quarterback will be.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Dalton's injured right wrist graded out at 20 percent strength when he visited a specialist. Dalton, a second-round pick, is listed as probable.

In his first NFL game, Dalton was injured late in the first half and was replaced by Bruce Gradkowski, who led Cincinnati to a fourth-quarter comeback against the Browns.

No kidding. Especially since gruden thinks both qbs are basically the same in this point of their careers.

yeah 4 pm sucks. btw, anyone who hasnt done so, make sure you set up your fantasy squads now. just enough time to make sure everything for all my teams are good to go. Starting AJ today.

I'm starting A.J. also. It's more due to Dez Bryant being REALLY questionable, but I'm looking forward to it anyway.

I'm starting Benson and the Bengals defense, but sitting Gresham at the moment. My other TE is also 4pm, so I can leave that decision for later.

fwiw, I did hear someone else mention this morning that his right wrist wasn't as strong as his left when he saw the specialist. Didn't hear the 20 percent part mentioned though.

Didn't he see the specialist on Monday? If that's the case then I am sure it would be weaker only 24 hrs after the injury.

Dropped AJ today for Dez. Hope it doesn't bite me in the ass. Not starting Dez though.

Got Ced and Jermaine starting though.

not sure. Just heard them mention it was weaker than his non-throwing arm. I think it was Schefter on ESPN this morning.
