It makes no sense to carry an inventory that large.

Jeb
Pot found at Jerome Simpson's home Police on Wednesday confiscated a package containing 2.5 pounds of marijuana shipped from California to the home of Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson in northern Kentucky. Bengals tackle Anthony Collins also was present at the house, along with a woman who signed for the package. Police also found 6 more pounds of pot inside the house as well as drug paraphernalia such as "packaging materials, scales and smoking devices," California Department of Justice spokeswoman Michelle Gregory told the Cincinnati Enquirer. Police detained the players but didn't arrest them and no charges have been filed. The case will be addressed Thursday by the Kenton County (Ky.) prosecutor's office. "The house was set up as a potential distribution network," Tommy LaNier, head of the National Marijuana Initiative, told CaliforniaWatch.org, which broke the story. A spokesman for the Bengals acknowledged the team was aware of the reports but did not offer any other comments. Both players participated in the team's practice on Wednesday. The 25-year-old Simpson, in his third year with the Bengals, has eight receptions for 180 yards this season. Collins, also 25, is in his fourth season with the Bengals.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7003943/marijuana-seized-cincinnati-bengals-receiver-jerome-simpson-home
Jeb
WUC: Two Bengals detained by authorities By Jamison Hensley Every morning, grab a cup of coffee and get your AFC North wake-up call here: Bengals starting wide receiver Jerome Simpson and backup offensive lineman Anthony Collins were detained Tuesday after 2.5 pounds of California marijuana was allegedly delivered to the house owned by Simpson. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported both Bengals players were present when a woman, identified as Aleen Smith, 27, accepted the package Tuesday at Simpson’s home. Investigators found six more pounds of pot inside the house in the Northern Kentucky suburb of Crestview Hills, according to a spokeswoman for the California Department of Justice. No one was arrested, and both players participated in Wednesday's practice in preparation to play Sunday against San Francisco. Simpson and Collins could be subject to discipline by the NFL under the league's substance abuse and personal conduct policies. Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan told the Cincinnati Enquirer that the team was aware of the reports but declined further comment. According to the report, authorities suspect the house was set up "as a potential distribution network." Hensley's slant: Simpson was beginning to establish himself with quarterback Andy Dalton and the Bengals' passing attack. This isn't the news that the Bengals or their fan base want to hear about just days before the team's home opener. ...(cont'd)
http://espn.go.com/b...-by-authorities

Jeb
And the good news is Hensley/ESPN will be at our home opener reporting on the game, ...and yes, ...any dope about Simpson and AC (pun intended). Normally, he offers greater coverage and video features when he makes a visit. Unfortunately for us, he chose now to visit. He does seem to be a fair writer but under the current circumstances, ...how can you expect any writer to remain fair.
