I don't think anyone should be demonized as part of our political process. Pitting one group of Americans against another is cynical and destructive. Both sides are guilty of it.

Right but one side (Wall St) is guilty and it should be said so.

Kasich is killing me... Telling bald face lies about my insurance and pension contributions....

Honestly it has made me really consider a new profession. I don't like or want anyone to call me a hero, but I am tired of being made to feel guilty for how much I make or just flat out lied about how much make....

At times working somewhere where I just went to work and make what I make sounds more appealing....

This class warfare is leaving a very bitter taste in my mouth as I am sure it is with many others...

The banks are at fault for this crisis and what do ya know.... They want everyone else to keep paying for it!

FUCK THAT!

I have been saying for years that violent revolution is coming. Keep producing more have nots than haves and these peaceful demonstrations will turn violent....
This is exactly right. I fear that violence will come if there isnt a peaceful resolution to this that involves some economic and social justice.

What these people are doing is setting up the conditions for America's version of Che Guevara.

Violence needs to hurry up. Someone needs to sniper all CEO's. Especially the one at my company, I hate him so much, it feels like he just discovered management books and is constantly making us do dumb shit. Someone please legally murder him.

I don't care how bad your CEO is, mine is worse...

My company is too big for me to even know who my ceo is or what he believes.

I'm so ready for certain things to get done by the government side with something so I can get out of here and over to the small start up I'm trying to go to.

I am pretty sure by reading your other posts that this is at least a half joke... but that feeling is growing leaps and bounds everyday.

What does a man have to lose when you keep taking things away from him?

What does a man generally do when he feels he has nothing left to lose?

So who exactly has Wall Street demonized? All of the vitriol out there is about "fat cat" bankers and wall streeters.

A little reading will tell you that these people are just pissed off because they have less than some other people so those people must be inherently evil.

They advocate changing our financial system in favor of a system that redistributes wealth more evenly without regard to talent or work ethic. ie. socialism and even communism.

There are issues with our monetary system but forced confiscation and redistribution has NOTHING to do with freedom or fairness. Demonizing those that have more than we do is again cynical and damaging. It is also immoral.

This idea of wealth confiscation and redistribution came to fruition in another country about 100 years ago and resulted in one of the greatest political and humanitarian disasters in the modern world.

Likely keeping a big bonus for himself too right?
Oh, absolutely. He did it a couple of years ago when he laid off nearly 20% of their workforce and forced everyone else to take a one week furlough, then gave himself a $5 million bonus...

Do you mean like the forced redistribution of 1.5 trillion dollars from taxpayers to the banks?
Personally I would rather them spit vitriol at me then play fast and loose with my retirement. Words don't hurt, losing 70% of my 401k Savings does.

A little more reading will tell you that these folk on Wall St used their wealth to influence our government to change the laws so that their fraud would not be technically illegal. Additional reading would show you the multinationals used their wealth to influence our government to lift trade barriers so they could use third world labor while making first world profit.

The idea that this is simply a required adjustment to the monetary system ignores both of those realities. Likely because those who want to propagandare a pure capitalism with no honest oversight by a honest government (which we currently do not have) refuse to come to the realization that their ideals simply are not compatible with reality. They cant point to any single country in which a purely capitalistic no government involved on any level has worked or been a boon to the people and not just the plutocrats. Their no government involvement in anything ideals are on full display in Somilia.

Anarchy from either extreme is not the answer.

I dont support the anarchists, I do however support the citizen participating in democracy.

Oh and as far as the redistribution of wealth talking point. Oh there has been a redistribution all right, but its been from the bottom up and it hasnt been honest.

Calling evil evil is not "demonizing" it, because it was already evil.

James 5

Warning to Rich Oppressors

[sup]1[/sup] Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. [sup]2[/sup] Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes.[sup]3[/sup] Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. [sup]4[/sup] Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. [sup]5[/sup] You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.[sup][a][/sup] [sup]6[/sup] You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.

This one is all too real for me as I have a brother that lives with me and is struggling...

What it says...

Two years ago today, my little brother killed himself.
He had been out of work for eight months, was unjustly denied unemployment, and had nowhere to live.
He took sleeping pills and alcohol and lit a barbecue in an enclosed basement.
The company that lied about his eligibility for unemployment to increase profitability is doing just fine.
He was the 99%. So am I.

How the fuck do you get 100k in student loan debt? You better be getting a degree in a hard science for that kind of dough.
Go to a university just about anywhere in the USA?

Tuition and Fees for Horribly Mediocre University in Ohio

If you're actually lucky enough to get out in 4 years, then it would cost you $73,326.00 to go to school and live on campus. Unfortunately, it takes most folks 5 years to get their degree, so that would bump you up to $91,657.50, or damn near $100,000.

And that's for a school that is far from Ivy League.

Obtaining a college education has gone from being a gateway to a better life to a racket for banks and universities to gouge students, their parents, and create a new generation of highly educated serfs...
