Wondering why Marshall deal would require a physical to be completed. Didn't seem to be case in Latos deal. Could [s]#[/s]Redsextend Marshall?

Meh, we got a top reliever for our 7th SP.

my main concern with it is what don't we know about Marshall that the cubs are trading a top reliever to a division opponent?

What a dipshit! Is Walt getting alzheimers? First Wood, a pretty decent left handed starter, then Sappelt, a guy that swings a pretty good damn stick? And what do we get in return? A left handed relief pitcher in the last year of his contract! That has to be the most bone headed deal since the Frank Robinson trade. The reds have a lot of lefties they can use in the bull pen. They have Bray and Chapman. I didn't realize they let Daniel Ray Herrera go. I thought they were really expecting a lot out of him. I guess Walt is serious about Chapman being a starter, and doesn't believe any of the minor leaguers are good enough for the majors. DAmn that was a lot to give up though. I sure miss Arthur Rhodes now.

I don't think it's THAT bad. Marshall was one of the top 3 relieves last year and the best WAR reliever since he made his transition two years ago. (wins against replacement)

If we can sign him to an extension I'll be very fine with this trade.

That's the key. Without it, it's a huge failure

Or we could have kept all our talent, filled in a left handed reliever out of the farm system or free agents, and signed him next year...just saying. It was a dumb move.
