yea I liked Willis too, but there wasn't much room for him. Wasn't any room really.

Still don't get why they are trying to make Chapman a starter, especially since they just traded for one.

Latos is from my area, he and my brother are friends.

I like the trade. Great pitching is going to cost money, prospects, or a combination of the two. Latos is dirt cheap so it was going to take a lot of prospects to get him.

The team is trying to win now. I like it.

Was on the road to St. Louis so I missed the trade going down but not a huge fan of it. Gave up way to much for a guy that was 9-14 last year in a pitchers ballpark. I know his ERA is good but heck Harang had a good ERA for the Padres.

I would think with everything they gave up, they could have got a more proven pitcher like Shields or Jurrjens. I hope it works though and Latos turns out to be a true number one but right now the Padres trade raped the Reds.

I would take Latos over shields or jurrjens any day of the weak. We have him under control till 2016 and only have to pay him like 500k this year. Hes also 24 and should keep getting better. Win loss record means nothing when you play for a team that averaged like 2 runs a game.

A couple things...those were just games he pitched in that they lost. Doesnt include any of his wins.

Second, the kid is still 24. He is probably still getting fully stretched out. Wearing down as the year goes on for young pitchers is common.

According to ESPN Chicago the deal has been agreed to in principle. Wood and 2 minor leaugers for Marshall.
