Lewdog
Congrats to my favorite Red of all time Barry Larkin. On his 3rd try, 2 tries too many, he becomes the only inductee in the 2012 HoF class. Quick trivia question. Barry Larkin is famous for wearing #11, but he actually started his career with a different number. Can you name the number and name the player that was wearing #11 so that Larkin couldn't have it? Had buddy that was interning with the reds in 03 and 04 and said Barry was a complete ass in the locker room.
Lewdog
BTW the answer was, he wore #15 originally because the starting SS Kurt Stillwell wore #11. Larkin got #11 after Stillwell I believe was traded to KC in the Danny Jackson deal.
Jamie_B
Looks like he is planning a celebration with the Reds fans... Because this, in my opinion, is something huge. I so want to celebrate this with them. I hope I represent the city well when I make my speech. I've tried to represent the city well as a player and in my post-playing career. “I look at this as a chance to interact with the people of Cincinnati. We've got to do something big in celebration of this. This is absolutely off the charts. Yes, as a player I went out and got it done. But it was people in the Reds organization. Marge Schott, Carl Lindner. The front office folks. Jim Bowden, the general managers. Pete (Rose), Tony (Perez), Eric Davis. The players. The relationships. Rob Butcher, the PR people, everyone. This is absolutely awesome. “I'm so excited about it.”
I never thought it was right to have a government guy that deals with the team too. You would think there would be some kind of conflict of interest brought up preventing it.
