CBS report is wrong - Dad is alive but in serious condition. We continue to ask for your prayers and privacy during this time.

He was 85 years old. Not sure why the media is acting all surprised. Other media idiots are saying he died of a broken heart. No, fools it’s called cancer.

For his legacy he died (or will die soon) at the right time. The same media idiots that trashed him will now say how great he was. It’s called the Nixon treatment.

Frankly, I have trouble caring either way. He was a great man. But he was 85. All of us would love to live that long. More than 50% of us won’t.

CBS previously reported that the 85-year-old college-football legend had succumbed in his battle with lung cancer.
Earlier on Saturday, the family announced that Paterno's condition had taken a turn for the worse.
"Over the last few days Joe Paterno has experienced further health complications," family spokesman Dan McGinn told The Associated Press. "His doctors have now characterized his status as serious.

In response to the spread of the initial report of Paterno's death, Scott Paterno, one of the coach's sons, tweeted that remains in serious condition but alive.
Yeah I heard that he was still alive, according to some reports on twitter...I'm not sure, though. ESPN still reports him as alive but in "serious condition." I can't help but think that this is one of those times when a man's spirit is broken, and his health declines because of that more than anything else.

Wow what a surprise. With the PS scandal seems he's been in the news a lot and didn't look too sick/bad.

Edit: Hmmmmm....guess his health has been rapidly declining in the last couple weeks. RIP Joe. Legandary Coach.

Really? Even before the cancer issue I was pretty sure he wouldn't last until the start of the next football season.

Rest in Peace Joe.

This just proves that stress at old age but any age can kill you. I no longer give a shit about anything. I quit letting things stress me out. Nothing is worth it. The easiest thing that can stress you out are women. FUCK EM. Non of them will do that to me again. DO NOT GET MARRIED FELLAS. Stay single and you'll live forever.

Anyway....so are pre-pubescent boys going to get their, um, "turn" with his dessicated corpse? Revenge, as they say, is a dish best served cold...

i heard brent musberger describe Joes lack of reporting pedolphilia as a "lack of judgement". Yea just conveniently not reporting this for 9 years was just lack of judgement. NO he was an enabler, his life should not be celebrated. I dont want to hear anymore about the positive impact he had on PSU and its players. Lets not forget the negative impact he had on so many families and friends b/c he enabled a child molester in his locker room. AND PLEASE stop calling him a man of integrity, hes not. He did not die of a broken heart, hes fucking 85 and had cancer.
