[/quote] Maybe with McNally in the fold maybe he can help Livings improve, LIvings does have alot of experience starting and if he can work on his technique he would be a good player. I think he gets alot of criticism, unfair criticism by people who really don't know what they are talking about. Sure he makes mistakes, but who doesn't. Hell Whitworth gave up some big sacks last year, final drive vs. Baltimore in week 11, but no one is making him reason why the offense struggles. But Hobson's recent article pisses me off (more than usual). This team has the most Salary Cap space in the NFL. They have a young core in place. The Salary Cap will increase by a lot by the time those core players are ready to be extended. And the Rookie pay was decreased so that money could be spent on the players that we would be extending anyway. This team needs upgrades at some positions to take the next step. Status quo is not taking the next step. Or taking advantage of the position they are in right now. Worried about spending now because of how it will effect you in a few years? I don't expect a big splash, but I do expect some of the key guys to be re-signed, and some upgrades from other teams at a few positions. I'm optimistic, and they have no excuses if they don't do it, IMO. As you said... a young core, tons of cap space, and premium draft picks. Miles, a safety who was the club's Pro Bowl special teams nominee last year, has played in every game since Game 11 of his rookie season of 2010 and last year led special teams with 15 tackles. Skuta, a linebacker, has played in every game since Game 14 of his rookie season in 2009 and last season had a career-high 34 tackles and tied for second in special teams tackles with 13. He led teams with 16 tackles in 2010. Harris and Skuta can negotiate with other teams as restricted free agents, but the Bengals have the right to retain the players by matching any offer. It's believed the Bengals offered each the lowest RFA tender of $1.26 million. If an RFA does not sign with another team, he can remain with his original team by signing the one-year tender or by negotiating a longer contract. Harris entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft choice of the Packers in 2007 and if the Bengals declined the offer, the team signing Harris would be required to give its seventh-round choice in this draft. Compensation is not a factor for Skuta since he was a college free agent. The deadline for a restricted free agent to sign an offer sheet from another team is April 15. Any RFA who has not signed an offer sheet by that date will have his 2012 NFL rights revert exclusively to his 2011 club.
