Old Dominion's leading scorer, Kent Bazemore, was arrested Wednesday night just minutes before tipoff in the team's game in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.

Bazemore, 22, was arrested at the Constant Center in Norfolk, Va., on a warrant in connection with a DUI charge from last summer in Virginia Beach, Va. He was arrested for being "non-compliant" with the conditions of his suspended sentence, failing to complete an alcohol safety course on schedule. He was taken to the Virginia Beach jail and later released on bond.

Without Bazemore, a first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association guard, Old Dominion lost to Mercer, 79-73, in the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament. Bazemore, a fifth-year senior from Kelford, N.C., averaged 15.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists this season.

"About five minutes before game, literally (I) was told he would be unavailable," ODU coach Blaine Taylor told the Virginia Pilot. "We left the locker room normal. I came out and he was not on the court. I had no interaction with him. I called the kids over before the game and said, 'Hey, I don't know what's going on, Kent ain't here, let's play basketball.'
