I think the Madson injury hurts a lot. I think the reds have a winning season and I'll vote for them to win the division, but you can't ever count the Cards out. Latos has been very solid so far and I think he's going to be huge. If Dusty is smart, Marshall is the closer and gets the most saves. Bruce repeats as the HR leader. Neither Votto or Phillips get traded since the Reds will be in contention.

Francisco traded to Braves for RHP J.J. Hoover. Hoover assigned to Louisville. [s]#[/s]Reds

I predict that they are going to be good on offense and defense, but once again flounder in inconsistency in the starting pitching department. Arroyo is an overpaid junkballer that's prone to giving up big innings in the middle of games, Homer Bailey is completely inconsistent, Latos should be an improvement and even Leake is relatively unproven. Cueto is the only ace this staff has. Closer is a huge question mark now that Madsen is out, which is a HUGE loss for the club.

If Bronson gets back to 2010 form I think they can win the division. If not it may be a long season.

Votto confirms that an extension is close. "I can't comment till it's done. You'll have to ask Walt. It's a gray area." [s]#[/s]reds

But 2010 form wasn't very good at all! The guy is a .500 pitcher, He sucks and sucks worse as he ages. And he costs a fortune.

Am I crazy to think we have the most talent to win the NL central? I see a lot of people picking STL, but they just don't seem to be that good of a team to me. Beltran is an injured mess, Berkman is old, and Holliday is often injured.

I'd be much more scared of Phillips, Cozart, Joey, Bruce, Rolen than whomever they send out of their. They have a better rotation, but that seems to be about it.

Drew and Jay need to take the next step in their development, but if they do, I do think we have the most raw talent in the division.

I saw Drew hit .292 this spring with an OBP in the higher range of the .3XX, but still had 14 SO's in 43 AB's. So who knows how it will go this year.

If he hits .292 with an obp in the high 300s I don't mind him striking out 200 times.
