I like that the Ravens traded out so fast after pick was made.
Yup. Word around here ( I live in Baltimore now for those who don't know) was that the Ravens wanted him to make up for losing Ben Grubbs. I think we fucked them.

The Bengals passed on Stanford's David DeCastro when they traded out of the No. 21 spot. Cincinnati also chose Zeitler over Georgia's Cordy Glenn, who had been linked to the Bengals.

Here's a scouting report on Zeitler from Scouts Inc.:
Pros: Displays quick and compact hands to lock on to defenders. Drives legs once in position and flashes ability to drive defenders when stays low and generating leverage. Possesses above-average instincts and football I.Q. Plays under control and takes good angles in space or when climbing to the second level. Also displays ability to adjust on the move to cover up targets in space. Does not panic when getting knocked off balance initially and flashes ability to recover and get back into position.

Cons: Can get caught lunging at times which can make him vulnerable to quicker interior rushers. Can play too high on occasion and does not have an elite inline power base to overcome and get adequate movement when pads rise up. Flashes an edge and can deliver the big block when catches defenders off guard but needs to become more of a finisher at this point. Does not back down from challenges but would like to see more of mean streak.http://espn.go.com/b...eitler-at-no-27

And from Marvin's comments Zeitler was rated the highest in their estimation over DDC and Glenn....

absolutely love that they got a starting RG AND a 3rd round pick. I liked DDC more, but I don't think there's a big drop off between him and zeitler. Most people had zeitler slotted in the 20's.

I thought he said not quite the puller, but I may have heard wrong. I've seen zeitler on tape pull and he's pretty good. not decastro level, but better than most guard prospects you see.

Alexander also talked about how smart he is. Said he might have had the highest wonderlic score in the entire draft.

Decastro sounded a lot like Steiny - undersized, good puller, prone to leaving for Cleveland after four years....

So he's smart, or he cheats and wins. I like either.

Keitler should fit in with team

For a Bengals team defined by its close-knit locker room last year, choosing Wisconsin OG Kevin Zeitler at No. 27 overall made sense in adding to that atmosphere. “He's as good a guy as there is and a good player,” offensive line coach Paul Alexander said. “Chance to take a guy like that helps the whole team, not just his spot.”
