Go Skins
One from Cincy made the list: http://travel.yahoo.com/ideas/7-must-try-roller-coasters-20120523.html 4. Beast: Kings Island, Cincinnati When it first opened in 1979, the Beast was the world's longest wooden coaster, at 7,539 feet. And it still is. Only the first lift hill can be seen from the queue line, since the majority of the expansive ride, covering 35 acres, is situated in the woods surrounding the park. The four-minute, ten-second ride features two lift hills, three tunnels, and a 540-degree helix finale along its disorienting course. Even though the coaster celebrated its 32nd anniversary in 2011, it is still a perennial favorite on most coaster enthusiasts' top 10 lists. |Elflocko|
Best wooden roller coaster ever built. And while Millennium Force is fun the Magnum XL is a much better coaster...
BigDawgBengal
The Beast is a great roller coaster. It is a must ride every time I go to Kings Island. To bad they screwed up Son of Beast. It could have been a great roller coaster but it turned into a major flop and waste of money.
Did you get to ride it with the loop? I did... you didn't miss anything if you didn't. The Beast was still better. The SOB wasn't very smooth at all... I guess The Beast never was either though. The Fire Hawk is the best at King's Island right now... well, maybe Diamondback. They're both pretty awesome. Jason
I rode Son of Beast when it first opened and I thought it was the best coaster I had ever ridden. Too bad they screwed it up. Wooden coasters aren't really meant to be smooth.

MULLY
I remember riding The Beast back in the early 80's when I was a kid. Are the lines for that still hours long? MULLY

|Bunghole|
Son Of Beast was a BETTER coaster than the Beast when it opened. Now it just sits there. Now, The Diamondback is the best rollercoaster at KI, with the Beast being a close second. King's Island isnt really a great rollercoaster park. Go to Cedar Point. Tigris
The line for The Beast isn't too bad in comparison to Diamondback. Even that Stuntman or whatever that boring little coaster thing is had a long line when I went. They still have "gay day" or whatever down there? I remember as a kid it was always "if you wear red on Sunday, you were gay". Hahahaha
Cedar Point is the only excuse for getting that close to Cleveland. Best amusement park in the country IMHO, at least when in comes to roller coasters. Millennium, Magnum XL, and Raptor make it worth the trip alone...
MULLY
Anyone here remember [i]LeSourdsville Lake (Americana)? |Bunghole|
The line for the Diamondback moves really fast, so even if its a long line, I haven't waited more than 30 minutes for it.
Cat
Ugh... pisses me off. Houston's only decent amusement park was AstroWorld, which was scrapped back in 2005. Had a bad ass coaster called the Texas Cyclone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsS-rS-9b2w They sold some of the rides, but they couldn't relocate a wooden coaster, so it no longer exists. This is the last anyone saw of it...
Apollo's Chariot and Griffon are the best rides in the park. Alpengeist is good too. You can get a ton of air time on Apollo's Chariot. akiliMVP
I went to King's Island Fear Fest about 8-9 years ago on a Thursday night. The Son of Beast had just came out and it was dead at the park. I rode that bitch 3 times straight without getting off. Worst headache ever but it was a blast.
