Maybe. But I know they like Cook and Robinson, so I don't see them using a first round pick on him. I also am not willing to give up on Cook after a few bad games in an injury shortened season.

Cook hasn't even been bad outside of a few running plays against Hampton last week.

Thought this would be fun.....Group mock draft. Essentially an "if someone goes in the first round then I would" kind of thing. Only Bengals picks....only rule is you can't pick again if you picked. So essentially I will pick in the first round whoever can go second through all of our picks.

1 Round 1. Going with Kevin Minter LB LSU. I think he is a sure thing. Really looked fluid last night. Will start somewhere if not the middle.

I'd be shocked if we select another 1st round interior lineman. Cook is not getting replaced and if he does it's by Robinson. Boling/Wharton are fine at LG.

I definitely don't think it would be a huge need but I do think Barrett Jones would be too good to pass up on if he's sitting there.

He would make that o'line dominant.

Not convinced we go ILB in 1, and Minter would be a reach. But ok.

Eric Reid at 37.

an updated mock from me. Premise being, keep the pass rush intact, improve coverage, and upgrade the specialist spots.

MJ, Geathers, and Gillberry all back. Same with Andre, Pacman, Maualuga, Crocker, Howard and Newman. Taylor Mays also converted to LB.

1. Kenny Vaccaro - hard hitting safety who can also cover well. will learn a lot from crocker.

2. Arthur Brown - LB who can do everything well and play all 3 spots.

2b. Kenjon Barner - change of pace back, but also kick and punt returner.

3. Micah Hyde - good cover corner adding more depth in the secondary.

4. Quinton Patton - solid WR who can get deep, win jump balls, and can make you miss in short space.

5. Xavier Nixon - more OL depth. A tackle, but should be able to provide OG depth as well.

6. Jordan Rodgers - yes, Aaron's younger brother, Gradkowski is admirable, but its time to consider a better backup option.

6. Mike James - more RB depth. Similar to peerman though probably a little faster.

I am not either but I think taking a DE who isn't absolutely dominating in round 1 doesnt make much sense. There isnt a RB, WR or S that I see us taking in round 1 either. From the guys I have watched Minter has been the best of the bunch at a position of need.

I didn't notice him at all last night. Whats the deal?

Had 11 carries 50 yds. They abandoned the run to catch up to LSU I guess. He did have a fumble too. Dude is electric.

I think if Ogletree is there he is more likely to be the pick.

I don't like lsu linebackers. Minter doesn't look like a good athlete either. Seems like a round 2 or later guy.

That's where CBS currently has him.

Not the athlete that Ogletree was but seemed a step or 2 ahead of Ogletree when it came to reading and reacting so it didn't matter. Watching the 2 back to back the LSU guy looked way better. I am not saying Ogletree won't be the better player and wasn't all year, in these 2 games I take Minter.

other than manti te'o I really can't see another MLB getting into the first rd. I like Ogletree ok, I just don't think he's a first rd pick.

I don't think they'll go MLB anyway though, I think Burfict locks that spot down for the next 8 yrs or so.

I'm hoping for Arthur Brown or Chase Thomas on the outside...I think either one of them are instant starters with the potential to be difference makers early.

Looks like Giovanni Bernard can catch out of the backfield. Anyone know if he can pick up the blitz? May get swiped before Oak's 2nd rounder due to such a weak RB class.
It's a great RB class IMO. No definite first rounder, but very rich in the round 2-4 range. Deeper than last years class IMO, which was a good class.

Seems to have four guys who fit the mold of what we need well.

I think we all agree we need a fast change of pace style back. Preferably one who can pass block and catch. How would you rate the backs that fit our needs?

I haven't done much research but Bernard seems to clearly be the top back. Lacy is big bruiser so he's unlikely to be picked. Randle is probably most complete back. I like Ellington's speed and return ability. Ball is a Green-Ellis clone. Haven't seen much of Barner or Stepfan Taylor.

I'd go:
1. Bernard
2. Randle
3. Ellington
4. Barner
5. Taylor

An updated mock.

1-Kenny Varraco-S

2-DeAndre Hopkins-WR

2b-Chase Thomas- OLB

3-Eddy Lacy-RB

4-Malliciah Goodman-DE

5-Omoregie Uzzi-OG

6-Bruce Taylor-LB

6b-Kerwynn Williams-RB
could definitely take that, though I think Lacy and Goodman both end up going higher. Also, while I haven't watched much of him, Thomas could end up going higher as well.
