Bain Capital

Apologies if this has been posted before.

Actually an interesting article on Bain Capital, published in late August. Has anyone read this? How accurate is this?

http://www.rollingst...apital-20120829

And this was a response to said article:

http://finance.fortu...nd-matt-taibbi/

And the response to the response:

http://www.rollingst...romney-20120905

How accurate is Matt Taibbi's original article? I can't imagine if what he writes is accurate - how can anyone vote for this guy?

No matter how bad Bain Capital seems in those articles, they're worse.

Taibbi's original article is pretty damn accurate, and I've been asking the same question for months. It's like hiring John Wayne Gacy to babysit your kids.

'Course I just *might* be a bit jaded seeing as both my wife and I lost our jobs to Bain Capital last year. The company that we worked for was bought out by a company owned by Bain and they followed their standard M.O..

Meaning they acquired the company and then fired everyone....

Maybe it's just me...

And just one more "rantish" point; I'm pretty sure that if someone were to take the time and crunch the numbers, my money would be on Romney actually firing more people than he created jobs for...

Sorry, but I really hate that fucker. This is the first election in which I've actually had a personal stake in the outcome, and I want that SOB to burn.

That's what makes my gut instinct that Romney is going to win hurt all the more... :/

I have no clue what you do for a living, though I'd image it's computer repair, setting up servers, or a programer. You definitely have strong political views. Because some of the education and work experience, I know there are a lot of factors you've seen where the market of some jobs are becoming obsolete. You can actually start as far back as the assembly line that was invented by Henry Ford. From that point forward to today, private sector businesses are trying to push the envelop and find ways to cut jobs, raise profit, and maximize production. A big part of this comes in progression and the change in factories finding how to build robots that can do the work of a lot more people. This has begun to happen for a couple reasons, but I'll only list a few. Robots don't have unions. Robots don't need bathroom and lunch breaks. Robots don't have to pay taxes. Japan is getting close to programming robots who can fix other robots. They have already built a simple robot that can put together another robot like itself.

Factory work is a huge amount of the pie for the middle class. As factories begin to become automatized. All kinds of manual labor jobs are becoming a thing of the past. This where some people will jump and yell something about these people going to college and getting a better job. There is a big problem with that, there are already several people in the U.S. with a college degree working at Wal-Mart, gas stations, Krogers, or wherever. So you get people coming out of college with thousands upon thousands of college loans they absolutely can't pay, because they are making $8 an hour to take care of their family.

It's really not going to matter whom the next President is going to be. It's not necessarily Obama or Bush Jr.'s fault. The things happening with the U.S. economy is the flaws in play right now. Technology is progressing faster than the society can deal with it. Soon there won't be enough jobs whether you have a degree or not. I wish Jamie could see the fog that keeps telling him that the more money the U.S. spends on temporary jobs, will somehow stimulate the economy in a positive way. The logic will tell you it won't.
