So what happens if all 50 states want to secede?

1. I believe the state itself has to petition, not the minority of it's citizens.
2. Not much has changed since the civil war with regard to where the money powers lie in this country, if anything the south has gotten poorer with the fall of coton as a cash crop. They wouldn't last very long.
3. The great irony is that all these treasonist Red State assholes bitching about welfare are actually the ones taking the most of it. Seen here

Like all online petitions, it will fall by the wayside having changed nothing.

The irrational part of me wants to let those miserable red states do whatever the fuck they want so long as the blue states get to stop giving them any of our money. Let it turn into a theocratic tar pit of fundamentalist ignorance. Maybe we can even put up the border fence they so desperately wanted, except this time we'll fence them in with Mexico. They can swim in their sea of minimal taxation and feast off the teat of the job creators while drowning in a general lack of funding for infrastructure or healthcare or disaster relief and starving to death without minimum wage or child labor laws or union protection.
