rumors st. louis trying to move down from 22 (not sure I buy it, they seem to really like Hopkins)

Also that San Fran is trying to get into the top 15.

I think the SF move to the top 15 is either for Vaccaro or a DT

Its for vaccaro. Looking to replace the only starter they lost on defense in free agency. A damn shame too. Its gonna be the second time in 2 years the niners stole a safety from us. Fu$% the niners!!!!

Does anyone think elam would make it to our 2a pick? If so do you think we take him?

God I hope not, if you look at every safety on the roster they are tall and Elam isn't..I don't think he fits the protype for the players they like at that position. Doesn't mean he's not a good player, just not a good fit for the scheme.

I feel like if the niners trade up it's so they can get vaccaro. That being said I feel like if they don't trade up they are gonna draft elam with the 31st pick. I believe vaccaro will be gone before the 21st pick regardless so the niners trading up could be a good thing for us in a way because elam could very well drop to our 2a pick. I was just curious what you all thought of that because I personally feel he is a stud of a player. I do agree however that he is smaller than I would like but he seems to play bigger then he is.

They're not going to "steal" him from us because we aren't going to draft him anyway.

I already posted that I don't think he would make it to the 21st pick but if he did I believe we would draft him. I just hate the niners so I can blame them for whatever I want. :p

I just don't think we would draft him regardless of whether or not he is available.

Our past dictates that you are correct since we have never drafted a safety in the first round, but there is a first for everything and imo this would be the perfect time to do it. if he was available at 21 he would be a need and a good probability that he would be bpa.... 4 more hours baby!!

means nothing.  Gresham was the first TE in more than 20yrs, Zeitler the first guard ever, and the only 3 first round corners have all come in the last 6 drafts.  No reason to think they won't draft their first first round safety since 1992.

Thats why I said there is a first for everything and this year would be the perfect time to do it.

Daryl Williams? Ricky Dixon? There have been other first round safeties too I think.

But it has nothing to do with history. There just aren't any safeties worthy of drafting in the first round this year.
